Are you not doing video interviews this year, Tikay?

If you could get hold of Brian Wilson for an interview, would be intriguing. Had presumed he had given up the game.

Loving the blog anyway.

I actually have a tinsy winsy piece of Main Event action in the legend that is KevMath, simply because he seems a great guy, & has been very helpful to me down the years.

He seemed moderately pleased to have found a willing punter, too. He was, it would seem, pleased to see me, too.

I need to get the Photo Blog up first, but I'll reply to the requests soonest.

For now, you'll have to make do with these. Barrel & scraping come to mind.

What I really like about this picture (yes yes write your own jokes about this!) Is the chap next to her.

He would have got up yesterday morning, kissed his wife of 35 years goodbye and said to her: "You know what, honey? I'm going to wear that silly hat with the crazy hair on it. People get so nervous for the main event, it will be an easy way to break the ice; a conversation starter. Yeah, that'll be nice"

Instead, he's just a man in a hat.

He walks back through the door.

"How'd it go, sweetie? Did they like the hat?"
"Funny story..."

Tal, you I like, we think along similar & rather odd lines.

I almost think that chap might have been a character in Garrison Keiller's "Lake Wobegon Days". If you have not read it, or even better, listened to the author-narrated audio books, please do, you'd adore it.

The greatest line ever in that whole thing was almost a life metaphor, but I won't spoil the story by telling you the prelude.

"...How do these things happen? Nobody knows...."

Completely passed me by, that one. Wiki summary makes it sound like a very unusual read.

I went to rail day 1a yesterday / spew off my chips in the $235 megastack. Will inevitably be back in the next week so will look to say hello.

GL to any blondes playing in the Main Event.

His whole body language is strange.

I bet his wife was on the rail, because he's almost desperate NOT to be looking at her!

That would be hilarious!

"Will there be women there, Charles?"
"Barely any, honey. It's pretty much all middle aged men and young upstarts in hoodies"

Actually, I remember now. The reason he was staring ahead was that there was an even hotter woman in an even better catsuit in seat 1
