The 2012 edition of the Partouche Poker Tour was the last ever, Patrick Partouche (pictured, right) announced Wedneday afternoon in a press conference at the Casino Palm Beach in Cannes, where the event concludes on Sunday. The news comes the day after the controversy over the €5m-guaranteed-prize-pool-that-wasn’t.

Wouldn't be surprised if ISPT goes the same route...provided they get going at all.

The ISPT started with 30m US GTD, down to 20m Euro GTD, now down to 20m Euro estimated.

LOLz

Partouche has seemed like a bit of a shambles, despite the value it's gotta be a good thing it's cancelled.

You coming up to the greatest city in the world this weekend for UKIPT ?

Despite the shambles, the Partouche poker tour will always have been worth it simply for this:

Ever since my somewhat controversial announcement concerning the end of the Partouche Poker Tour, it has come to my attention that there has been a certain amount of disruption in the external media spreading confusion and erroneous information which may have led our players to be convinced of the existence of a guaranteed Prize pool!

Whilst the official rules show clearly that the only guaranteed sum was that of 500 000€ to the overall winner, I do acknowledge that there may have been some misunderstanding caused by the way this event was promoted in the media and the confusion that since followed.

I have therefore asked the Partouche group to bear the consequences and make up the difference by adding 736 880 Euros to the Prize Pool....!

I have never turned my back to my troops, even through the toughest of times when storms have raged around us. I refuse therefore to accept the resignation that was submitted to me this morning, how true the expression "anyone who doesn't make mistakes isn't trying hard enough" therefore even those at the very tp are not immune to error from time to time.
That being said, I cannot now go back on my word and therefore my decision stands and the PPT will be no more...

Special recognition goes to all of our teams who habe worked so tirelessly to put together one of the finest poker tournaments ever...

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to all of you, amateur and professional alike who have sent me messages of support at this time.

Long live Poker and all those who are passionate about it...
