425 Blonde bash torrent

i cant pretend to understand all the talk about torrents etc. ive downloaded the 2 programmes, clicked ironsides link and im downloading. i dont know what all the info means so a quick tour for beginners would be good if anyone feels like upping my it knowledge

your download has started mad and a quick guide is that if you leave your comp on you should get the program over night

first it a 1 gig file

2nd you are getting the file from multiple sources who are all uploading to multiple sources and as you download you are also sharing what you already have with people so the more people that have the file means the faster you will get it,

if everyone who downloaded the file left there pc on it would have ment that you should of gotten the download and near full speed but it shouldn't be much slower as there are still 4 times as many people uploading as downloading

why is it so complicated, having to scatter the file and upload from many sources? surely if it was a stright download it would be faster. by the way, im not complaining about the speed, just trying to educate myself....

if it was a straight download it would be slower UNLESS it was on a super dooper all singing all dancing server with alot of spare bandwidth

ok so far the complete file has be downloaded by 20 people now i can only upload at 256kps which would mean to give 20 people the full download from me i would have to upload to all of them 1 at a time each one taking about 24 hours this way i can give to one person who can then share it with another person etc etc etc and therefore we all share the bandwidtha and the time

ok mine say's i have uploaded 1.87 Gig. and it seems to be doing nothing now. so can i close it all now?

can you restart the client bundle

ie close the program down and start it again it should then seed

the list isnt showing you as seeding so you have been disconected for some reason and there is 3-4 still trying to get the file

right click on the file then click remove and delete torrent (not data you want to keep that

then goto

click download torrent and magically you should be back uploading for people again

wow so now you want me to download the whole thing again.. i did as you said and now have 7Mb DOWNLOADED..do i really need the file again?

if you left the data alone then when you open the torrent it will automatically put you into seeding rather than downloading

if you did delete the data you should find the file in your recycle bin you can restore it
