I just happened upon this wonderfully evocative photograph. Probably taken in the 1970's, I guess. Even includes that old friend

Many years ago when I worked for Victor Chandler I got to know one of his nephews Mikey. We both left and then randomly the day before the guineas Mikey called me up and asked if I fancied going to the races the next day but that we would have to set off very early as he needed to stop by Henry's so I obviously agreed. We got up to Warren Place and they were just about to leave for the second string and happened to have the Derby favourite which they were just about to work so Henry told us to take a walk up to the gallops with him and watch the gallops and he talked us through every single horse. After the gallops were done he invited us back to Warren Place for breakfast and then got the head lad to take us around every box and show us the horses. Obviously Mikey was his nephew but he really went out of his way to be welcoming and it was one of the best days out I ever had largely down to his hospitality and the guineas is obviously a busy day for him yet he couldnt be more accomodating. RIP Henry and Thanks.
