Main Event
44,300 dinner break.
Well, at the table it hasn't been so eventuful-just running into that set of tens is the size of the damage.
But off the tables it has been bizarre. This dinner break is an impromptu early one. Now I'm not entirely sure about this, and you'll probably be better informed via Twitter , but the word is that there was a very small earthquake? If there was, I didn't feel it, but people say they did.
Anyway, 2h40 to play when we go back, hopefully the updates will be more emphatic poker ones.

Main Event
Not going well
Raise
UTG. The two blinds call. They are the more recreational players. Both have played passively and not come anything unusual.
Flop is
. I bet 2,400 into 4,000 when checked to. Small blind calls.
Turn is
.
I think I'm going to check back cards that don't hit 67 (i.e. a 3,6,7 or
, and play for a bet-check-bet line for value, also allowing him to lead the river as a bluff when he misses his straight draws.
But on a 7 turn I think I need to pick up my EV from 67 now. The other reason to bet is that, if I do get check raised, it is to be honest a cinch fold. I bet 4,000 into 8,800
I do get check raised. To 15,200. He hasn't shown one bluff all day. If he is bluffing, then obviously very well played, but to be honest, there wasn't a single thought about doing anything other than folding.

Main event
Raise
on German 888 sponsored guy's big blind. (the one whose name I should remember but can't).
Checked to the river on
.
He bets 2,600 into 3,100. It close. One interesting and very relevant thing is what his image of me is. And I don't know. This could be anything from knowing my online username, to thinking I am just a tourist Dad on holiday (He wouldn't be wrong).
So we have
For the call
Clearly I am likely capped to a mediocre hand with showdown value. It doesn't particular matter whether that is 22 or A9. I clearly am also very unlikely to have a straight or flush, having not taken my opportunity to bet the draws. It's a good bluff spot for him
Against the call
The sizing looks like value. But then, I don't know what level I'm on with him. Its definitely could be a good spot for him to just use that sizing as a bluff, to make me fold the bluff catcher that I almost definitely have.
It's also reasonably tough for him to have an airball on this board.
Ultimately I go with the sizing and fold
32,500

Ouch
Texan guy (cowboy hat) lomps at 300-600(600). I have
and make it 2,500. Just he calls.
Flop is
, and he check calls 2,800
Turn of
is checked by us both
On a river of
He bets 3,500 into 12,100. Sigh. The sizing is not good news. I would feel very happy calling 7,000. For him, it's probably just simply value. But at nearly 4-1 and with missed hearts being likely in his limping range, it's a call.
He has sadly binked

Won a pot
300-600(600)
Italian guy limps UTG on my big blind. Curiously, his
pre-flop modus operandi all day has been to raise from all spots, apart from UTG, where he has limped. Texan guy limps, and small blind limps
I make it 4,000 total with
, and they fold.

Main Event
Weird schedule after the (now confirmed) earthquake in California
In three hands, twice had AK, after a raise and two calls. With 35 bigs, it's a three bet- regretfully call of off, because of the two calls. It's got folds each time.

Last level may be the kind one! 42k
Made some hands involving Queens. Will write just quickly...
Raise KQ. Ravener calls MP, big blind Texan calls
Flop QQ5hh. I decide to check. Racener bets 2,600, I check raisd to 8,600. He folds. The check is debatable. I think once I have, the check raise is the only option. The weight of value behind my check is just the times the BB turns a T/J and I can get two big streets.
Then I raise AQ , Racener and another BB call. Flop AQ3ss. Bet 3k, Racener calls. Turn offsuit ten. Bet 6,200, he folds.
Six more hands to play

This is the Post Stu, so folks can follow everything.
Raise KC JC UTG to 1,700, rec defends the big blind.
Flop
. He checks , I bet 1,700. He semi snap calls.
Turn
. He checks, I bet 3,900. He calls fairly quickly but....
It's strange. He's a rec but he hasn't done anything too
stubborn. But now something new happens . He shrugs in frustration, and semi-snap calls. I'm 99% sure the shrug is not an act. He basically has a weak ace. Given the new behaviour, I think it must mean he's getting tired.
River is
.
Ah this is a decision. We obviously have on one hand that he has basically telegraphed that he went to the river with one pair of aces. And the other hand is his frustration. I nearly fire. Maybe I should. I think ultimately, whether this is tiredness or frustration, maybe the chips go in. We're going to end up in that classic spot where he "knows he is beat," but may well throw the chips in
Hmm I still don't know. Maybe a mistake.
Bagging up 35,200 now. Anticlimactic day. Really happy to be there
