Question 3

Swindon Town hold an unwanted record in the Premier League. Obviously its for largest number of goals conceded, but how many did they actually concede over the course of their only season?

Unfortunately for Swindon, they hold a record that is highly unlikely to be broken. They are the only team ever to concede 100 or more goals in a season in the Premier League. Granted, it was back when the league had 22 clubs rather than the 20 it has now, so there were 4 more extra games, but it's unlikely to ever be broken. Even Derby, the worst team to play in the Premier League, only conceded 89 in a 38 game season.

Oh, the actual number? A nice round 100 goals conceded.

This leads to the first duck eggs scored, with three of you getting it spot on. Congrats to Tighty, sonour and Pokerpops for scoring nowt on this one.

Question 2

6 bowlers have taken more than 500 wickets in their Test Match career (Warne, Murali, Anderson, McGrath, Kumble and Walsh). How many Test Match wickets have they taken combined?

Right. The totals are as follows:

Muralitharan - 800
Warne - 708
Kumble - 619
Anderson - 584 (as of this post)
McGrath - 563
Walsh - 519

Which adds up to a healthy 3,793 wickets according to my maths.

You lot put:

Tighty   3300   493

Question 4

The Grand National should have taken place last weekend but thanks to Coronavirus, it was cancelled. 3 years ago it took place on my birthday, which is 8th April. One for Arthur won the race, but how long did it take the horse to complete the course in seconds?

This may have happened on my birthday in 2017, but I didn't watch it and don't know anything about the race. The horse won in 9 minutes, 3.5 seconds which by my maths is 543 seconds. Yes, I am aware that I didn't put "rounded down", but every other question where this has occurred has been rounded down so I'm rounding down. It's not going to change much anyway.

Your answers were:

Tighty   540   3
Doobs   480   63
bunnydas8888   330   213
rubbish2407   570   27
Nirvana   999   456
Dacorb   260   283
Scotty   900   357
arbboy   745   202
stribling   480   63
robbiebox   1111   568
Karabiner   7179   6636
sonour   660   117
Ironside   4   539
Pokerpops   320   223
celtic   847   304
Juperjiper   387   156

4th round, 4th leader change. Rubbish hits the front again and pulls out a decent gap over the chasing pack. Iron is no longer bottom after Karabiner makes a monumental error.

Question 5

Lewis Hamilton is the current F1 World Champion, but how many F1 races has he actually officially entered in his F1 career?

Amazingly, Hamilton has entered 250 races in his F1 career, of which he has won 84 of them. Obscene win percentage.

One of you managed to get this spot on. Unfortunately for everyone not named Rubbish, it was our current leader, who extends his gap over the chasing pack.

Question 6

The WSOP is the pinnacle of poker events, apparently. Hint, it's not, but obscene numbers of people attend every year. Anyway, in 2019, Robert Campbell was crowned WSOP Player of the Year. How many points (rounded down) did he score to win?

After a long, gruelling WSOP summer, and controversy over who was the actual winner between Shaun Deeb, Daniel Negreanu and Campbell, it was the Aussie who stood tall, with the POY title and two bracelets. Campbell's winning total was 3,961.31, giving us a total of 3961 points after rounding down.

You lot sent in:

Tighty   4000   39
Doobs   3900   61
bunnydas8888   3000   961
rubbish2407   4000   39

stribling   3750   211

Ironside   6   3955
Pokerpops   120   3841
celtic   3754   207
Juperjiper   317   3644

This is going to be the one that sorts out the top from the bottom, as a number of players either fell out of contention or jumped up the table on this one. Rubbish still leads, but the chasing pack looks a bit different, whilst at the bottom, Karabiner is the first unlucky player to hit a score of over 10,000.

Question 7

Michael Van Gerwen (who else?) holds the record for the highest ever televised average in Darts. What is it (rounded down).

A question that most of you got pretty close to. MVG averaged 123.40 in a televised Premier League game against Michael Smith on 25 February 2016, which rounded down is 123. Smith's average in return? A measly 91.41, a full 31.99 points less. No wonder MVG won 7-1 that night...

Anyway, your answers were:

Tighty   120   3
Doobs   116   7
bunnydas8888   121   2
rubbish2407   122   1
Nirvana   114   9

arbboy   122   1
stribling   121   2
robbiebox   119   4
Karabiner   114   9
sonour   118   5
Ironside   7   116
Pokerpops   150   27
celtic   136   13
Juperjiper   117   6

And no change to the table here, move along, move along (but congrats to Dacorb for hitting a duck egg)...

Question 8

Ronnie O'Sullivan holds the current record for largest number of Ranking Titles won in Snooker (including minors). How many is this?

Ronnie has won 36 major titles, a record he holds with Stephen Hendry. Unlike Hendry, however, Ronnie has also won 3 minor ranking titles, which puts him out on his own with 39 ranking titles won. Only one person managed to get this spot on, but sadly for Karabiner, it's not going to save him from still propping up the field.

Everyone's answers for this round were:

Tighty   40   1
Doobs   45   6
bunnydas8888   120   81
rubbish2407   51   12
Nirvana   175   136
Dacorb   28   11
Scotty   70   31
arbboy   76   37
stribling   70   31
robbiebox   44   5
Karabiner   39   0
sonour   50   11
Ironside   8   31
Pokerpops   40   1
celtic   67   28
Juperjiper   112   73

And that gives us a table of...

rubbish2407   99
stribling   412
Doobs   540
Tighty   581
robbiebox   1312
bunnydas8888   1488
celtic   2387
sonour   2637
Scotty   2841
arbboy   3509
Pokerpops   4341
Dacorb   4622
Nirvana   4723
Juperjiper   4885
Ironside   8847
Karabiner   10610

Still no real changes in the table, Dacorb leapfrogs Nirvana near the bottom, whilst Tighty is nipping at Doobs' heels for a podium place. Karabiner is still bottom, but Ironside is doing his best to be the worst. Rubbish and stribling seem to have set their positions at 1 and 2, but there are still two questions left so let's see if that stays the same.

Question 9

Sir Mo Farah won the 5,000m and 10,000m at the 2016 Olympics. If you subtract the time he won the 5k from the time he won the 10k, what is the difference in minutes?

Let's see. Mo won the 10,000m in 27 minutes, 5.17 seconds. He won the 5,000m in 13 minutes, 3.30 seconds. That is a difference of...carry the one...plus 2847....hmmm, sod this, where's the calculator. Oh, yeah, that's it. 14 minutes, 1.87 seconds. Naturally, 14 minutes is the answer here as I'm not giving decimal points out and nobody can even try to claim I should round up to 15 minutes here. Don't even try it, I can't be bothered reading it Cheesy

Anyway, your answers were:

Tighty   14   0
Doobs   13   1
bunnydas8888   6   8
rubbish2407   15   1
Nirvana   14   0
Dacorb   15   1
Scotty   20   6
arbboy   15   1
stribling   14   0
robbiebox   15   1
Karabiner   14   0
sonour   15   1
Ironside   9   5
Pokerpops   13   1
celtic   23   9
Juperjiper   120   106

As most people got 1, or 0 for this question, there shouldn't be much change in the table. I'm going to assume juperjiper either thought I was doing seconds again, or mistyped.

rubbish2407   100
stribling   412
Doobs   541
Tighty   581
robbiebox   1313
bunnydas8888   1496
celtic   2396
sonour   2638
Scotty   2847
arbboy   3510
Pokerpops   4342
Dacorb   4623
Nirvana   4723
Juperjiper   4991
Ironside   8852
Karabiner   10610

Our leader finally hits the 100 mark but apart from that it is as you were. Gonna need some serious swings in the last question to change anything up top...here's a hint, someone in that top 4 needs to be sweating right now.

Question 10

Ronan O'Gara is the current all time highest points scorer for the Ireland Rugby Union team. How many points did he score in international matches for Ireland?

Ireland? Why on earth are you asking about Ireland? Well, England was too easy and also the better half is Irish. Makes for some interesting times in my household come 6 Nations time...anyway, ROG has the lowest points per game average of the current Top 10 points scorers of all time, at a measly 8.33 points per game.

He played 130 of them though, all in the green jersey of Ireland. 130 multiplied by 8.33 equals 1,083 total points. That consisted of 16 tries, 176 conversions, 202 penalties and 15 drop goals.

You lot put...

Tighty   1100   17
Doobs   1000   83
bunnydas8888   700   383
rubbish2407   1100   17

rubbish2407   117

Podium
Tighty   598
Doobs   624

Mid-table
stribling   729
robbiebox   1397

celtic   2680
sonour   2721
Scotty   3430

Pokerpops   5335
Juperjiper   5977

Relegation

Hope you all enjoyed it, sorry if the questions were a bit tough but it's hard to not repeat questions (and I failed on one or two, same question but different names) when we're up to 8 quizzes.

Anyway, who's next?
