Hi all, I am one of the admins for AFC Wimbledon Poker Club. We often have charity events and in the past have raised over £1000 for Dons Local Action Group, and £500 (twice) for NHS Charities.
Our next charity event is this coming Sunday, 4th December, at 7pm on Party Poker. We are raising money in memory of Jamie Vincent, a former professional footballer who my fellow admin, Stuart, went to school with. He sadly died earlier this year at only 46 years of age. His family have asked that we raise money in his memory for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
The game is a NLHE re-entry tournament, $11 buy-in with 60 minutes late registration and unlimited re-entries during late reg. 50% of the buy-in goes to the prizepool, and 50% to CRY. Party Poker have very generously waived the rake fees for this event, and have also added hundreds of dollars of added value in the form of tournament tickets for the top players, and for taking out one of the five bounty players.
