Today was the Saturday Medal Finals at WPGC the course was set up equally difficult with fast greens and tricky pins.

I actually played pretty well apart from a couple of holes which were absolute disasters - not what I usually do. Playing from the white tees and getting 14 shots I went out in 42 despite a horrendous 4putt seven on the 360yd 6th hole! I came back in a lacklustre 45 which included another horrendous seven on the long par4 14th. I then failed to get relatively easy up-and-downs from just short of both 16 and 18 so bogeyed both.

All in all I shot 87/14/net 73 but it really could have been a lot better and I'm encouraged by that.

Great scoring again Ralph. I'm thrilled with anything below 90.

We played the Priory course at Breadsall on Friday. After the ball toss it was me and my bro Joe vs Moulty & Mick.

We were 4 holes down in the doubles and I was dead last about 7 sabbos behind in the singles on the front 9 but we rallied and won the back 9 and the doubles overall.

Going up the last hole Joe was one ahead but Moulty and I both get a shot there and Joe doesn't so we were effectively level.

I had a putt to win it but predictably missed and shared it with Joe on 34 sabbos each.

Not great scoring but loads of fun.

Splendid stuff Uncle Ralph.

Hopefully we can have another knock round Royal Wollaton before winter sets in.

Golf/poker day was a success. Won by Jay who also cleaned up on the cash table.

Bad news for me from the golf. Started to get a high temperature half way round which ibuprofen helped with and finished the round.

However another problem raised it's head which we all dread. No idea what happened but my hand started swelling. Can't move my fingers and it's sore as hell. more ice on it today to try and reduce the swelling.

Can't see it bein any better for my Thursday tee time 😪

That looks nasty Kev. Is it an insect bite?

It would be great to have another game when you get back Tony.

October will be interesting for you guys with the stags being active.

That looks dodgy Kev. I'd get that looked at.

I had a mate who's hand swelled up like that, but it was because he kept putting wrong dominoes in.

I can't see any sign of a bite Ralph although I did think of that. Will try and get the swelling down today, if no joy will get it seen to. Don't think I strained it playing golf. Sure I would have felt something. The swelling came overnight.

Kev, we need an update please.

I hacked it round in 91 off the white tees today for a dismal 30 stabbos. On the bright side I just lost my best card of the 8 counting towards my handicap - a 78 off the yellows last August* - consequentially my handicap will now start leaping up towards something a little more realistic than the current 12.5.

It's The Autumn Meeting on Saturday 4BBB Stabbo

*thin and belated I know.
