Paul Johnstone is OUT in 5th position and wins £14,000

Down to the felt anyhow, but it finally went in with 7-5. John Exley and R Mulla checked it out in the blinds. Paul didn't pair up and that was that.

Unfortunately, noflopshomer has crashed out of the £100 freezout.

A-Q v K-J v 9-9

The nines somehow managed to hold-up.

Good effort tho from the blondeite.

And almost immediately, Iwan Jones goes out in 4th place, winning £18,000

With most of the chips sat in front of Mulla, he raised to 40k.  Iwan decided to put the pressure on him to call with  two spades Two Clubs - he did, with .

And flopped the broadway straight.

No late-night luck for Iwan, and although he would have been happy with fourth place when on a tiny stack earlier in the day, it's never nice to lose a biggish stack.  Still, his nice cash should make him feel better.

Congrats to Paul - unfortunate that he lost so many chips with AQ v AT - those situations are always annoying, but moreso at crucial stages of big comps like this.

Anyway, tell him well done from all his mates up north - great updating as usual btw guys!  Grin

Well, friends, a further deal pretty much signals the end being nigh:

The 'extra' £20,000 has been split -

Mulla  +£9,500
Mick McCloskey  +£6,000
John Exley  +£4,500

So wait for the official result, coming soon...

Mick McCloskey is OUT in 3rd place and wins £20,500

Mulla raised from the button with K-J off, Mick reraised from the small blind with A-Q suited. Mulla called with conviction.

Flop =

Mick announced all-in, and Mulla called instantly.

Turn =

River = two hearts

John Exley is now in posession of a messily-stacked 380,000.  The rest is sat in a big lump in front of Mulla... we await the trophy determination, but kind of know who we'd bet on at this point...

After a couple of hands, the general trend of which was raise from Mulla, all-in from John, pass, it happened again -

Preflop R. Mulla raised 30k, John just moved on in, and, looking a little fatigued, Mulla called with .  But John had the rather dominating !  So double up, and the heads up goes on...
