Just heard from viva Espana... AJ is through but unfortunately it was at the expense of Bad girl.

Go get 'em in the next round Paul!!

& see you on Friday... am very excited about a long weekend in the sun - although it is a girls weekend and coincidentally (honest!!) it is the same weekend as the poker.

LOL

Hi Rolf,

Anthony Lellouche - GREAT guy, great player, got a very big win in him. Shame he's French.

Missing being there, bit not missing that iffy Vodafone signal, not at all!

See you soon mate.

Today the 2nd round matches take place. I´d do a live update but unfortunately the wireless is still not good enough in the casino and I have two Blue Square players to cheer on so I´ll be too preoccupied to do much updating.

Yes, both the Blue Square players safely made it through to round two - Mickey Wernick and James Atkin.

Today Mickey faces Italian Valentino Pedron, while 21 year old James faces Frenchman Xavier Malandran.

Thanks JR, hope your guys get the job done.

I know you are too busy to Update, & the sgnal is crap, but it was a nice thought, thanks.

Any "snippets" appreciated. Dave is texting bits & bobs through, as is Anna, too, it all helps.

The bubble beats Scandi mateyboy very quickly and is through to round 3. In round 3 he will meet Ash (his room mate) if he gets through his match.

Here are the results of the bet with Rolf.

In bracket 1 Mickey lost, after a marathon grind, while Anthony won. 1-0 Rolf.

In bracket 2 both Simon Nowab and Rolf´s random European pick, Johansywhatsits lost, 1-0 Rolf.

In bracket 3 Simon Zach won, while Pascal Perrault got beaten by a girl. 1-1

In bracket 4 James Atkin won while Rolf´s compartiot Noah got beaten. 2-1 Raab

But what about Rolf´s reputation, hehe...

If anyone is interested I have written a report on both Mickey and James match on the Blue Square website. Here´s the link

Nice, wish him luck and ask him to get his ass back on here and post some more hand histories.

Unfortunately I didn't get to wish him well for you in time. James was beaten by German Frank Blumlein after an encounter that lasted over two hours.

The key hand that swung the match in his opponent's favour was at the end of round 4, with the blinds at 300-600 and both players roughly even in chips.

Frank flat called on the button. James raised to 1,500. Frank called.

Flop

check - check

turn

James checked. Frank bet 4,000.

James thought for a while and called.

River  Two Clubs

James checked, Frank moved all-in.

James thought for about five minutes before folding. The German revealed his cards only to his railbirds and then hi-fived them.

I will ask James to come on here to explain the hand further and out it in the context of the whole match, but it may not be for a few days - he's jumped straight into the €200 pot limit Omaha. I do not want to reveal the hand he passed without his permission.
