I'd comment, but I'm not a parent so not qualified to.

Have you considered getting a desktop as an alternative to a laptop?

Are you making a suggestion that has nothing to do with the question too?

maybe get them an umbrella each. much cheaper than a laptop and as a bonus can be used to keep the rain/sun off

In written records, the oldest reference to a collapsible umbrella dates to the year 21 A.D., when Wang Mang (r. 9–23) had one designed for a ceremonial four-wheeled carriage

Surely they would prefer this selection for Xmas? Then they can borrow each others presents and they are different? Who wants to borrow something you already have?

Do you now get less balls in Hungry, Hungry Hippos to save costs and they've been forced to drop one of the Hungrys so you don't feel bad that your hippy can't eat enough food?

you shouldn't get a pink one for boys, they don't like the colour but girls are mostly ok with it

they make small ones for little kids which might be more practical than a full size golf brolly

something else you could consider is a seethrough one. then if all their friends also get umbrellas for christmas you'll be able to identify your child on a rainy day by looking through it whereas most parents will just be looking at a sea of coloured umbrellas with no idea which one is their kid's. some people have said to me 'why not just remember what colour they've got? or even write their name or a code on top like police cars do?'

but what if they swap with their friends and don't tell you? clear ones are def ftw
