I've now been through the full draft list and ensured that all the outstanding picks have been made (I had to catch up one of my own, plus two from Blacklaw's Braves).

I've also returned Marshawn Lynch and Jay Cutler to the Free Agent pool, amended the waiver priority to reflect last year's finish positions, and have now kicked off a post-draft waiver period that is scheduled to run until Wednesday.  I'm not sure exactly what time this will be, so please assume it will be early morning as for post-game waiver processes.  Once this has completed I will need to switch the settings back (as they're currently on continuous waivers to get this cycle to run) before everyone else becomes available as free agents.  To keep things fair, I will notifiy on the thread in advance when this will be, so that everyone gets a shot at the free for all.  In all likelihood, given that most DLeague managers will also be doing the draft on Wednesday evening, I will time this for just after those drafts have finished (so circa 11pm on Wednesday evening).

Once again, thanks to Tighty for keeping the draft process bubbling along during my holiday.  We got there, eventually!

Looks like I didn't explain it well enough.

To get the waivers to run I have to change the settings in the system to continuous waivers, which means there's never a period of free agency.  After the first ones clear, another waiver period begins.  I can only change the settings back after the first waivers process.  If I do it now, every player becomes a free agent again  (I tried it yesterday to check).

So at some point in time, after waivers have processed, I need to physically switch the settings again back to weekly waivers, which will make all the unclaimed players free agents again and start the free for all from the moment I hit the button (which gives me, and potentially others, an unfair advantage if I don't advise a time in advance).  It's not a second waiver cycle, as it won't complete, but until the settings get changed there won't be any free agents showing in the player pool.

Thinking about it further, I think in previous years I've changed the settings and then advised a time from when free agency pickups can be made (and from memory, I think bobby1 consistently manages to make a pick about 15seconds too early!)  This is the way I'll do things again.

Allowing picks at some point around the other draft seems logical as it's a time when most of the managers will be online and in NFL mode.  Consequently, Wednesday evening makes most sense for the time when free agency pickups can commence (although maybe just before the draft, at 8pm or 8:15pm, makes more sense).

REDRAFT UPDATE:

Apologies to all for the last-minute nature with regard to the redraft (although, it's pretty much always a last minute exercise filling the leagues to get the drafts to run).

Just to confirm that the plan is still to draft this evening (Wednesday) at the slightly earlier time of 8:30pm.  Following feedback I've also reduced the pick time from 90s to 60s (which is the next increment available), so it should run a little quicker this time.

Looking at the other managers from last season, quite a few haven't been active on blonde for a while, so I'm assuming they're not involved.  We have a few active blondes left who haven't confirmed directly, but whom I'll message to see if they're interested in playing again, as follows:

Beyond that, ForthThistle isn't active on blonde, but part of the DLeague (albeit he missed a few draft picks, but this was more of a mix up) and there's potentially a new player interested, who's a mate of Tal's.

Given all that, I reckon we have 12 definites, with a possibility of getting up to 16 managers.  Consequently, I think the most sensible option is to run a single league this year, as the best case for a two league setup will have 8 managers in each, which doesn't make for a great league.

I will therefore fire out invitations on nfl.com to the confirmed 12 managers to join the old Blondepoker A league from last season (some of you will be active in this already, so this is to get the previous B league players in place).  I will expand this league, if needed to accommodate additional managers.  If we end up at 16 managers, I'll likely tweak the roster structure to remove the 2nd (W/T) flex spot to leave more of a free agency pool.

For info, I'll be in a meeting in London until lunchtime, but after that will be available to sort out admin, as I travel back on the train.

Fees-wise, the entry fee will be £30 again, which some of you have sent already.  However, I'll chase up the fees post-draft, given the late stage in the process.  Consequently, the draft isn't dependent on you paying before tomorrow night, and I don't anticipate any grimmers long-term.  Worst case scenario is that any long-term non-payers will be excluded from any prizes.

If anyone's status is different from the above then please let me know, and I'll amend accordingly.  Expect a few updates on progress from 3pm onwards, leading upto the draft.
