Title: Asus eee pc Post by: Robert HM on April 22, 2008, 03:44:03 PM Has anyone got one of these, had any experience with them or know anything about them?
I saw a colleague using the 701 and it looks quite a good bit of kit. Useful in so many ways due to its small size. The 900 is out now, though I don't know who has them in stock. Oh and if anybody knows, would Linux be a better bet then the XP upgrade? Thanks in advance. Writing reports etc. So mainly spread sheet and word processing when away from "base" Oh and emailing the reports Hopefully the Open Office thingy, which I know sod all about will work like MS office and allow integration, i.e. pull figures from spread sheet cells into the word document. There are lots of similar PCs out now too. Title: Re: Asus eee pc Post by: Grier78 on April 22, 2008, 05:50:44 PM In June the Eee900 comes with Intels new Atom Processor which will increase battery life by a ton and may be slightly faster (but may also be slower and more expensive, should find out in a few weeks when the benchmarks are done).
I am defo getting one at some point and will prob go with an xp one for software compatability, at least until poker tracker and my favourite sites work on Linux. After playing with Linux for a while, got bored and decided to install Windows. Need to keep an eye on the forums I think - Linux people are normally good at stuff like kludging drivers for things. |
