Title: Anyone know a Loan shark in London ?
Post by: DiscoBoy on January 02, 2009, 01:36:25 PM
Looking to borrow abit of cash for a few months can't do companies as not on elctoral role and dont want to do provident as there only go upto 500 quid. Looking to borrow 3-5k over about 6 months. And before you ask it's not for gambling LOL Some of you know that i've been away at a nice little hotel for about 18  months ;-) I need the money for a deposit & rent on a flat. Just sorted myself out a job so if i can pay back quicker then i will. Please PM me if you know anyone. Cheers. Dave.

P.S Before anyone starts about my lack of posts i was on here as PokerDave69 before. This is my new Name.

worst idea you have ever had mate. get interest free loan from goverment and start somewhere shite and then when you have earned the money you would have needed to pay back a loan shark you will have more than enough to get going in a half decent place.

Hi mate cheers for your post, no finding hard to obtain credit due to not being on the electoral role plus not having any funds going in / out of bank acct due to being away. Parents are both retired so not going to ask them, they are finding it hard to keep the heating on all day. As i've already said ive sorted myself out a job now so paying back won't be a problem, if i can find one and agree terms i.e borrow 5k and pay back £400 a month they wont change the terms and ask for say £800 a month will they ?? Dave

If you like a bit of a gamble.

Find a loan shark, take as big a loan as you can get out of him.

Then when you can't get afford the repayments just grass him up to the authorities.

Loan gets written off - easy money

Go to a Loan-Shark? Never. NEVER ever, do that.

Legit credit is everywhere, mountains of it. You just need to be a tinsy bit creative when you fill in the Forms.

Most of us have been a little economical with the truth in these mattrers at some stage in our lives. Better than going to a Loan-Shark. ANYTHING beats that!

There are...erm...less reputable loan companies out there (who only lend money to poor people at a ridiculous rate and stop by your house to collect and stuff)..that won't break your legs if you don't pay up and don't charge 300%+ interest..

Don't go to a loanshark...really..it's a seriously bad idea.

From moneysupermarket.com:

http://www.everyday-loans.co.uk  Typical APR 65.4%

And this one is so close to being perfect:

http://www.flmloans.co.uk Typical APR 42.6%

They both suggest that if you have a job and can breathe, you're in.

Cheers Longines, Both require gaurantors i have already applied with flm but for a 2k loan they want 36 repayments at £100 so will total £3600 minimum plus a £200 admin/processing fee. This is the reason i'm trying to go down the shark route coz i wont have to pay anything upfront and most of them only charge 50% so if i borrowed 2k would have to pay back 3k which i can live with. Thanks though.

50% annual interest in convenient monthly payments? Seriously, if you that's all a loanshark charges you as yearly interest you know some of the nicest loan sharks in the business.

Yup, & their Terms & Conditions are written on this. It's in very small writing, but don't worry, you get a close-up view pretty soon.

One of my uncles is a loan shark and its not really talked about in the family because its not a nice profession to be in.

He was investigated and put on the BBC...check this link...http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7524318.stm

This stuff is pretty standard amongst loan sharks - explore any other avenue if you can

If you are calling bolt a prostitute you need to be careful.

These ridic aprs are usually a little bit hyped up.

Yes the apr is stupidly high but that's because the loan is probably one where you borrow £100 and pay back £140 next week. The actual cost of the loan is only £40 but because it's short term and 40% per week the apr is insane.

A lot of these loans are just to help people out who need some cash immediately and have no other way of getting it. Next week they get their giro or whatever they can pay the loan back.

It's a high risk loan so it comes at a high cost.

A loan shark is an entirely different animal. They break your legs.

I think we both know a quality double glazing company who would know someone to lend him the money.

I think we both also know what then happens.

Bad times mate. Worst plan ever.

If you would like an exact description of what happens when you miss a payment by an hour let me know.
A good friend of mine used to 'enforce' loans on behalf of someone.

maria i have heard/seen people that were tortured for £300,,,which then accumalted to £4,500 over 6 months

they were a team from cardiff that now dont operate/that im aware of,due to stiff sentences one guy had 7 years for it...kidnap and all that stuff....

i would strongly advise disco to get his head done, and crack on for a few months open a bank account for wages to go in and then ask the bank for a small short term loan....
