Title: DTD: Caribbean Poker Party
Post by: TightEnd on March 06, 2012, 09:17:20 AM
The Dusk Till Dawn Caribbean Poker Party will be a week long event next November, held at the 5* Marriott Resort & Casino in St Kitts. Players will have the chance to buy a package directly, or qualify for one through satellites. The week will consist of sun, sea, sand, parties and of course, poker!

The boys will be working on a main event and poker schedule, and my team will be working on the rest; pool parties, boat trips, sunsets, cocktails, BBQ’s on the beach, volleyball comps – all the fun stuff Smile

We’ll be taking a pretty big team over there to run the poker and activities to ensure it goes exactly how we want it to – amazingly! We’re literally taking Dusk Till Dawn to the Caribbean, and mixing in a wicked week long party. Get in! Can't wait!!

As well as the poker schedule, we’ll look at the satellites over the next couple of weeks to determine the best possible package we can qualify players for, and how we plan on doing it.

We'll be launching the satellites asap. Obviously we want to qualify as many of our players as possible, with as few overlays as possible, so we really will need players to get behind us and support the programme – and tell a mate or four!!

This is a Dusk Till Dawn ONLY event, our staff, our players, our party. If we pull it off (which we will) it’ll be such an amazing achievement for us, and to share that with 400 of our players will just be priceless!

Rob Yong gave a few further thoughts on the CPP on another thread yesterday

"Alex Ottewell is overall in charge of the CPP, she went over their to sign the contract a few months ago. email: aottewell@dtdpoker.com. Also, Simon Trumper, Kevin O'Connell and Flushy are also helping out with questions from "players on the circuit" who intend to buy-in regardless of winning a seat.

The CPP will be a full program of steps and feeders, there is a place for re-buy satelittes when you don't have time to set up a feeder tree (eg. poker 770 tonight) or for a quickie extra sat for the odd seat to give everyone a shot"

The chances of me playing poker when there's a beach like that within spitting distance is pretty much zero.

Think thats why Rob said that no poker would be played until 5pm!

Looks super sick.  Well done again to DTD

Hope nobody minds, this was my trip advisor review from 2006:

The Summary

1. The Marriot is an excellent hotel, and for many travellers I would go as far as to say the only place you should consider staying in St Kitts at this time (unless you like catering for yourself).

2. Costs at the Marriot can be very excessive - I would give serious consideration to going all inclusive – on a $2,000 room bill we accumulated $1,500 on food drinks etc in 1 week. And in all seriousness – it didn’t take much doing.

3. The staff at Marriot are excellent although due to the nature of the islanders work does seem like something of a chore to some!

4. I would agree with many that it can feel a little lifeless YOU MUST get out of the hotel and explore the island – its only small you can do it all in 1 week.

5. Must sees –Do an island tour and take in the following ( black rocks, Romney manor, Brimstone Hill Fortress) Turtle Beach,. Basseterre is ok but not a great deal to do – new shopping plaza should improve things greatly.

Full Review

The Hotel

Ok now for the full review. My Girlfriend and I went to the Marriot for 1 week and stayed on an all inclusive basis (fortunately). The hotel is very well presented and although at stands out from its surroundings, as a resort it is excellent.

The rooms are very well appointed and maid service is brilliant. I can genuinely say we did not have 1 issue with the room. Everything seems to have been thought of – even the safes were free of charge.

Unfortunately, during our stay the seafood restaurant Blu was closed, limiting our food choices. Having said that, the food we did eat was very good, both in terms of portion size and quality. Buffet breakfast however were $20 USD which in any language and currency is steep. Generally the food was very expensive, and there is no getting away from that fact. I would recommend eating in the Grillade at least once, although it is expensive, it must be the best restaurant on the island by a long chalk!

We went out of season (September) and the nightlife was pretty much non-existent. Alcohol in the hotel in comparison to UK prices is reasonably priced, however we did manage an entire night out at ‘Sugars’ for $30 USD – which I was quite impressed with and it put the Marriott’s pricing to shame.

Although the beach is ‘private’, there is no such thing as a private beach so you do get locals selling things. Having said that, they do not pester you, if you say no, most accept it and move on. Others sell nice things at reasonable prices and we picked up some nice souvenirs!

The Island

The island is very small and has just stopped centuries of growing Sugar crops in favour of tourism. As such there is not a massive tourist trade as yet. They are developing it as we speak. There is no central area for nightlife or restaurants so a dedicated trip is required. I am sure that this will change in the next 10 years and that North Frigate bay will develop hugely.

The Casino at the Marriot is very good, huge for the number of visitors it must get, and although some of the croupiers are still learning we had a good experience of it.

A day trip is a must. You can visit many of the island sights in 1 day. We just paid a local and knowledgeable cab driver $80 for an island tour which took 4 hours. This was well worthwhile and helps you understand the island, where it has come from and where they are heading.

We really enjoyed our day at Turtle beach it isn’t stereotypically stunning but it is a great beach – but a word of warning don’t expect too much from Wilbur the pig – hes big….but not that big!!!!!

Shopping

There is a new area being developed by Port Zante in Basseterre – this was still under construction when we were there but the quality of the area looked good and most of the shops were high quality, and souvenir shops sold things you might actually want.

Looks so good, and the 5pm poker start is such a good idea.  Almost persuaded the missus.

Could you please add a baby sitter for the week so I don't have to take my eldest out of school.

chirp alert...from someone with a St Kitts flag on their Hendon mob page...

This place is abs fabulous, the hotel is excellent and with its position so near the beach it never feels crowded as their is so much space around the place. The poker rooms we used were big so its not like playing in some crowded conference room and there was a sportsbook in the corner of the casino which will be perfect for punting US sports in deepest November( if it is still there that is)

I didn't do many trips but there were some good snorkelling/glass bottom boat/fishing things going on and quad bike things for hire to really get about the place.

Basically it is perfect for holidaying and pokering at the same time, the only downside we found was that the all inclusive food was pretty poor, but there are some bars and cafe's, coffee/cake shops in there too if you aren't happy.

The nightlife was good too with everything open til the early hours, in fact the last time I saw Dubai he was attempting to coax Dave Pomroy out of a fountain at about 5 am!

Thank you for the review :)

You will be pleased to hear that the Dusk Till Dawn CPP will be an all inclusive affair so no high bills at the end of the week!

In response to the atmosphere at the hotel, we are hoping to take 300-400 players so i think it will be safe to say that there will definitely be a great atmosphere for one week in November 2012 :)

Hi MC, its very child family in terms of the room layouts (most have 2 children beds + 2 adult kings) its a family type hotel, plus our package is fully inclusive for 2 adults + 2 kids under 16. Alex is planning to do kids activities in the day if people take them, once we know numbers we can do an intinery for kids etc There is NO POKER till 5pm, so we are really going to try and make this a holiday for people as much as a poker event.

Cheers Rob

If fine for kids... we took our 6month old in 2006 for the CPC and it was great (although we were given a suite by WH due to my rakeage at the time i think and they knew I was taking jnr)   Lots of choice on food and nice quiet safe spot.  Baby sitter was refferenced by the hotel and came every night for not many $.  She was a devout Christian and I'm not sure she approved of gambling...I had a result out there and tipped $100 on the last night and she came back next day saying I'd given her a ton acciidently instead of $10 :D

We have had a lot of players inquiring about taking kids so should be enough for childrens activities in the day. If you want to check with us nearer the time before you book we will always be happy to let you know how things are looking number wise if this helps your decision to bring them.

Hi guys, these online satelittes will start after the UKPIT, we are going to be designing their format over next couple of weeks, if anyone has any cool ideas (haha, value hunters....NOT a €10 freezout with 100 x £6k seats GTE!!!!!!!!!!) please suggest, for this level of buy-in Pokerstars tend to do lots of feeders into a weekly or monthly final, i really want to make these seats as assessable as possible, so any feedback would be great. For example, we could follow our Deepstack feeder tree structure, with mini feeders and feeders running into an evening freeze out that then went into a weekly final for x seats...I have never played the EPT satelittes, maybe someone who is used to them could suggest what we could do? Im pretty open, we have had loads of queries about this CPP, I think players like the idea we are not just making it a poker comp, with all the other activities we are planning etc Cheers Rob (we will do live sats nearer the time, but lets sort the online ones out first!)

Personally I wouldn't be playing any satellites with only 1 seat guaranteed.

I would like to see something like

Hourly €10 feeders to
Nightly €50F/€20R 5 seats gteed to
Weekly €200F 8 seats gteed to
Monthly €1000 5 packages gteed

Needs a bit of tweaking on the numbers but I think it works roughly if you can get a nightly turnout of 20 runners?

Agree with Stu on this.

I wouldn't go near anything with only 1 seat guaranteed or which was likely to generate only 1 or 2 seats.

Make them as high as possible.

Also are the feeder tickets able to be saved or do you have to play a specific comp with them?

That's always been a bug bear with me and DTD sats. I've sometimes got time to play a feeder but I won't because I can't play the specific comp that they feed in to.

Make them as flexible as possible to encourage as many as possible entries.

Need to be able to play nightly comps then choose a weekly comp and then hopefully choose the monthly.

I know me and Matt will be amongst the small minority on here that aren't sat on their computers every night but if anything can be done that would be great!

$100 cubed (1 rebuy 1 addon) are cool sats and they are deeper and generate bigger ppool than a freez, make it a little more for the addon that the original stack and rebuy

I think this is close but a monthly €1k with the DTD playerpool as a stand-alone tournament is too much.

I'd say following onto the sites already (imo) successful satellite times and structures would be to have daily 9pm €50, with (x seats gtd) feeder satelittes to a monthly/bi-weekly €500. Perhaps the week before this monthly/bi-weekly €500 (with x seats guaranteed) bumping it to a €100 satellite. Do the regular sub-qualifiers throughout the day to the €50 qualifier.

I think you have a really good system at the moment with the 9pm qualifier tournaments at a buyin level suitable to many regulars whilst still generating multiple seats per night to target tournaments. I also think in terms of structure for these satellites you're spot on with a relatively quick clock and 10k starting stack with re-entry.

Hi Nicola, Rob and team

just a couple of suggestions on the type of things you may want to consider to put on offer for this (great job by the way ill def be looking to satty into this!!)

VIP package - this could include upgrades on everything from flight upgrades/room upgrades/extra ticket (for example if i win a package id like to be able to take a fellow poker player with me) and maybe extra nights out there - st kitts is a nine to ten hour flight so people may want to spend an extra week out there or potentially island hop so a twin centre with maybe your week in st kitts follwed by a week in barbados or similar.

add on packages - the above but broken down to individuals so people can pick and choose what they want.

someone mentioned earlier about chartering a plane - this is def something you want to look into. i work for a very large airline and during the winter seasons we charter out our aircraft. its not as complicated or maybe as costly as it seems and would be much easier for all involved especially as your doing sattys so you would already know approximately how many people you would be flying out there. someone also mentioned about the £700 to go towards flights - getting that price for two adults and two children would be virtually impossible - even booking this early you'd be looking at about £2k minimum for four people to book people individually (Ive just had a quick swizz at BA and they wanted £2.6k) - chartering a plane may well reduce the cost and the flights could be tailored to your requested dates.

when i thought about replying to this thread i had plenty more ideas but as its first thing on a Monday morning my brain has does what it always does and turned to mush. I'm coming up to dtd for the gp so if you want to have a chat then please feel free to collar me or drop me an email on here.

oh and Alex i noticed youve got the job of organising the 'fun stuff' (still a pretty tough job). Again if you need a hand with this please let me know and ill see if i can help - as mentioned before i work in the industry (the airline is attatched to a huge travel company) so would be glad to offer any assistance i can.

That's great to hear you're ideas and as for chr=artering a plane that is an idea and something we have thought about. Give me a shout at the Grand prix and we can discuss it if there's time :)

The £700 will only include the player themselves and those wanting to bring family will have to put up the money for the additional flight (still a fantastic price holiday when just haveing to pay for flights!!). The reason for this is that players who want to come alone don't want additional costs to be involved for others if they are not bringing anyone if that makes sense.

Let me know if you have any other thoughts, you can PM me too :)

Cheers Nicola

Hi Nicola.

This is quite possibly the best poker prize bar none and I seriously want to be there. This is my new dream that will get me through  an anotherwise tedious six months so a big up to DTD.

Just a couple of quick questions:

Are the Steps all rebuys? - point is, if you qualify from a €4 or €20 then you are disadvantaged if you don't have the funds to rebuy from the next step.

Is there another way to qualify via Freezouts?

I'm actually considering going now.. I read Alex visited the resort, I'd be taking my gf... Is there any information on other activities available there? Will the girls from dtd all be going too? She'd kill me if I went and he was left alone :D also what is the guarantee for the main event? If there isn't one then it's fine ofc.

The €100 Step 3/4 got cancelled last night due to lack of numbers.  I was one of about 4 or 5 regged.  Because of the 5 seat guarantee, it needs at least 15 players for it to run.

When do you expect enough interest for these to run ?

Hey,

There will be loads of players taking their partners and some will take the whole family so we will be planning activities in the day for everyone to join in with. Yes there will be a few girls coming from the club including myself and Alex so she will definitely not be left alone.

There is also a spa, shopping complex and sports activites so plenty to do :)

Cheers Nicola

Hi

Unfortunately there isn't as much interest as we had hoped at this stage and this has resulted in the tournaments cancelling :(

It is looking unlikely that the Monday final will not meet the 18 minimum runners either so based on this week we are going to take down the satellites and review the programme in order to create more interest.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Cheers Nicola

Hey

Players have qualified via our other promotions such as via CPP Golden Chips for other events (You can win one for our CHIPLEADER and Grand Prix via satellites running now!)

There isn't really a limit on the number of tickets to be won, obviously we will only qualify players until we have reached our capacity in the Caribbean, via qualifiers and direct buy in's :)

We currently have 4 players who qualified through our Grand Prix Golden Chips in April, and one will be confirmed this weekend in our Chipleader as the last Golden Chip remaining will win a CPP package.

You can win a Chipleader Golden Chip now by playing our 20 handed Chipleader Sit & Go's, the winner wins a Golden Chip :)

assuming you are looking at different ways to attract more runners in the online sats there is a good survivor tourny that sky do that was very popular when it first launched.

based on a 5 nights in a row turbo format 1st night could cost 10 euro and half the field go through to the next night, each night also has the option to buy in separately but it means you could start monday with 10 euro and with half the field going through every night by the 5th night the survivors would have a 320 euro entry which could lead in to a once monthly final.

just an example of where 50% go through each night leading to a higher buy in tourny and it would most likely appeal to a lot of lower stakes players who perhaps wouldn't play the 1 in 5 then 1 in 10 formats we usually see.

just throwing one out there as they say  :)up

I heard over the weekend that the dealers that you are taking to St. Kitts won't be regular employees but blow ins. Tell me to keep my nose out if you want but celebrating 5 years of Dtd would be much better with some of the most excellent staff you have rather than people that just do the occasional stint at Dtd.

Gotta be good for staff morale IMO

Thinking about it I would not mind having 10% of my buyin taken to cover the expense of getting someone like Penny there.

Edit: It was not Penny who mentioned the subject to me.

Dear Mr Black  -  Nicola is simply being informative by explaining that CPP satelittes will be coming soon following enquiries from players, why do you feel you can address her in that tone, when she gets to work tomorrow and opens this thread how do you think comments like that from people like you make her feel?  I don't get it why you feel you have the right to paste her last post and be so sarcastic?

Below was one of your gems from yesterday right - when you were too late to register for the online satelitte - this was completely your own fault yet you post this on this forum and feel the need to make the letters so big, what are you trying to say by doing that - are us at DTD or the members of this forum not capable of reading normal fonts?

Just get to my DTD account to reg for the DTD200 sat and its closed already... no late reg, or already closed??? either way how are you going to hit the numbers like this?

Apparently I've hit a double whammy today on people misunderstanding my tone.

The above comment was meant in a similarly jovial fashion to most/ if not all of my communication with Nicola and there has been plenty as she has helped me in a bunch of strange situations with the club in the past.  I think you'll find my love for dtd in all my posts, and the large fonted message was in momentary frustration when I tried to get into a satellite @ 9pm, believing the late reg to be open still.  I've been told since its open for 40minutes and as such have no idea what happened.

Having re-read the post just now with what I imagine you were thinking at the time I hope I understand why you were disappointed in it.  As said above though it was not meant in a serious light at all, and absolutely not in any way offensive.

I am one of the people who has been trying to get to dtd for your comps, service and general customer care as much as possible and when I can't and have to put up with the sub-par experience of other poker rooms I am constantly using you as a beacon for poker.

I have even come up to you more than once and said thanks in person so i am even more mortified at how the post above has come across...

For that i am sorry.

A good day to Nicola, you and both the staff of dtd and blonde.
(going to have Herbie check my posts in future before posting)

I have even come up to you more than once and said thanks in person so i am even more mortified at how the post above has come across...

For that i am sorry.

A good day to Nicola, you and both the staff of dtd and blonde.
(going to have Herbie check my posts in future before posting)
I put my foot in it as often as you do John if not more so. Agree Dtd is the nutz. Gl getting past Sinclair this weekend :)

Okay Mr Black. I have asked DTD reception to put a note on the system to have a chat with me when you next come to DTD, you can air your frustrations to me personally instead of on this forum. In terms of Nicola, I suggest your chances of getting past Sinclair will be higher if you leave a box of chocolates for her at reception, she went home from work today crying after seeing another one of your posts, I think its 50:50 whether she comes back to work tomorrow, I think her previous boss at Hooters has offered her her old job back :) Cheers Rob

Hi Nicola,

Just planning various things for September and the 500kGTD.  Will there be any live sats for the CPP taking place over that weekend?  Rough ideas of buy ins etc.  Know its a while away so no rush.

Thanks,

I heard over the weekend that the dealers that you are taking to St. Kitts won't be regular employees but blow ins. Tell me to keep my nose out if you want but celebrating 5 years of Dtd would be much better with some of the most excellent staff you have rather than people that just do the occasional stint at Dtd.

Gotta be good for staff morale IMO

Thinking about it I would not mind having 10% of my buyin taken to cover the expense of getting someone like Penny there.

Edit: It was not Penny who mentioned the subject to me.
Having chatted to Rob it turns out that Thomas Kremser will already have a team of poker dealers already over in St Kitts so they will be used. Big :( for the Dtd Staff but makes sense. Obv hoping to win a seat myself still

Dear Jason Herbert
Head of Human Resources
Dusk Till Dawn

That's is correct Jason, thank you for winding my staff up :) the Unibet Open which Thomas Kremster is hosting is the following week after our CPP in St Kitts, on the neighbouring island of St Maarten, so we are combining resources and using the same dealer pool. Of course, Simon Trumper will be hosting our event personally and Nick is dealing with all logistics issues.

Cheers Pal

PS all will be forgiven should you bring Simon Higgins for a heads up game this weekend! On a serious note, Simon Trumper is arranging a NL cash game, 10 25 50 blinds this weekend, so if Mr Higgins is interested, ask him to give Mr Trumper a call. Will be an interesting line up.

Kept my side of the bargain tonight. Simon and I sat in the £50 comp and the £15 and we never saw you. Just come outside and your car is parked there :( ......going back in to play some PLO

Edit. Turned into an expensive night for me. Ripped the arse out of my jeans getting into those stupid seats in his car and  think I've dislocated my shoulder when he wanted to show me how good ceramic breaks are.

Do these sats have late reg or do I need to get home from the pub earler?

Probably worth the DTD team clarifying this again. Late regustration is only open if there is a minimum number of runners when the tournament starts but I can't recall how many are required.

Hey

Just to confirm the late reg only kicks in if the minimum number is hit (this is totally different min runners from these needed for the satellite to run as we can set that number but can't set the min for late reg)

The late reg rule is 7 if 1 seat is GTD, 8 if 2 seats GTD, 9 for 3 seats etc etc. It is basically 6 more than the number of prizes generated/guaranteed!

This satellite only got 7 runners, its 2 seats GTD so it needs 8 runners for late reg to run.

I hope that makes sense, unfortunately we cannot alter this as it stands :(

Cheers Nicola

Not bad for less than a tenner.

More details of the CPP Sat next Sunday

Format

CPP Mega Satellite £200 + £24 Buy-In (+ 2 Reloads)

Start time 5pm

Late Reg 4 levels so 7pm (plus break -  first break after 4 levels of play)

10,000 Starting Chips

30 minute clock throughout

Each Optional Reload is £200 for 10,000 Chips

Up to 2 x Reloads per player can be taken at any time during first 5 levels of play

WSOP Main Event Structure

Rob has amended his blog to talk about this event in more detail

CPP LIVE CLUB SATELITTE - SUNDAY 2ND AUGUST

* 5 X £6000 PACKAGES GTE    ENTRY: £200 + £24 (+2 RELOADS)*

The format of this has been a tough one to decide, especially where to pitch the buy-in, previously we have done £500 Re-Entry satellites for £5k+ prizes, this time we wanted to find a way to make the satellite more accessible. We canvassed player opinion and the general consensus was a crazy £100 UL RB frenzy , a £200 Limited 2XRB or a £300 Re-Entry or a £500 FO, 4 options, each with their own benefits and drawbacks.

We have decided to go with a hybrid of a Re-Entry and a RB, where players can start with a decent 100BB stack but still reload but up to a maximum of 2 more bullets, unlike a re-entry there is no juice on the second or third bullet, so if a player used both their optional reloads, the player would have spent 10% of the £6K CPP Package value, so still good value, some players may prefer to take a single shot with 10,000 chips, some players may prefer to play the event as a Deepstack and take 30,000 chips at the start, I am sure there will be difference strategies employed ;

Entry: £200 + £24 (+ 2 x Reloads of 10,000 chips for £200 each)

Starting Chips: 10,000

Structure: WSOP Main Event Structure starting at 50-100

Clock: 30 minute throughout

Late Reg: 4 Levels

Reload Period: 5 Levels, £200 for 10,000, regardless of chip stacks, no juice of reload

Mr Keith Johnson

There is only 18 players in CPP €770 Final if you fancy flicking in €770 for a direct buy-in, starts at 7.45pm, late reg for 60 mins I think. Bad luck last week on the bubble :)

Good luck to Bookie Jim tonight.

Thanks chaps.

Have been concentrating on the chipleader route to get a golden chip as I thought this was the best way
of getting to St Kitts.

There will probably be only 50-60 people with Golden Chips and if you have a big stack ;D then I reckon the
odds would be around 10-1 to win the package. The fact that you only have to last longest makes a massive
difference in the value of these Golden Chips.

What I didn't forsee was that after around 30 attempts to win a 20 seater I still haven't got a Golden Chip :(

I am a little less worried about it now ;karabiner;

Thanks again for all the messages , much appreciated. Hope to see one or two of you out there.

Are there some alterations to the original package ?

I see on the website that the main CPP tourney is now $3000 not £3000 and cash

for flights is now £1700 instead of £700.

I think that's better personally because most people will want to take a partner or mate.

Ps unless you are Wadey then you ain't got a partner or mate.

Pps unless you win a package then Wadey will become your best mate. :)

Yes that's correct we have made it more cash for flights as most players will wish to take someone.

Plus $3,000 as we'll be in the Caribbean not the UK :) :) :)

DTD i think intending to run another live sat over Chipleader weekend in a fortnight

Looking like a superb trip with some great people going on it

Keep that Sunday free, and get on that plane!

Tbh Neil is the only one I don't recognise and it's great for Stephen, Terry and Chris too. All Dtd regs and just what Rob is hoping for I am sure. The £50 feeder sat to the £200 looked an excellent idea also. A great weekend all round and the effort by all the Dtd staff was much appreciated.

If the live satellites are £200 (+ 2 reloads) and offer 5 SEATS, then why the ONLINE satellites every weekend on Sunday offers only 2 SEATS ( for 770 Euros+Freezeout+10k chips). May be I am a bit nosy here but people like me who cant travel every other weekend and who solely relying on qualifying via online satellties, it would be much help if the same prices and strcture offered online as well. I dont have any complaints whatesover as DTD are the best ever ( infact, I have never been to any other card rooms till date). Just my thoughts.....

NO further live sats are planned this month. Not sure what else we can do when players prefer to play tournaments rather than Sats.

Obviously we prefer to do online sats as its cheaper but we did think players wanted live ones, clearly not at the moment. We need 40 runners to make 3 seats at £200 reloads x 2, maybe there is a better format?  We need 10 players to start a satellite , we have not been getting this, frustrating, players have told me its too early but surely people need to plan a trip to the carribean? Saying that, direct buy ins ate going well so maybe players don't want live satellites?

How about something like £30+£5, with unlimited £50 rebuys for 90 mins? Drop the guarantee to 2 seats too.

Should bring in a lot of smaller bankrolled local players that usually play the smaller tournaments that will hope to squeeze through the rebuy period, as well as better rolled players who don't mind the rebuys.

That could be a good saturday/friday event, with a larger event for the following day? I'd think the key to this is the large amount of small stakes players, rather then the larger stakes ones.

How about this idea?

£300 + £100

£300 standard Deepstack Tournament, £100 goes into Seat fund, 1 seat for every 50 players.

^^Obviously could be tweaked, £300 + £50, £400+ £100 or w/e

This could be good if they had an 'opt out' option for people who don't want to go anyway.

If they didn't then they're just restricting the field.

Just makes it a last longer then between everyone who stumped up the hundred.

It was an enjoyable DTD tournament and was about the nut structure for me personally. Obv huge sigh that didn't bink the trip though.

I am in the same boat as 3000 other regs at Dtd who are waiting for the live satellite with 100 seats gtd the week before the event who are hoping to get lucky, then have to drive to Liverpool or Peterborough to re new their passports, phone the school up and tell em that the kids grand mother has died again and will need time off unauthorised, then get the Xmas hamper money out of the savings club and get it changed into $, hunt round for my tooth brush and realise its in the suit case from the last holiday 18 months ago then book it,  pack it and f@@k off. Ty Nick and David. My post was obv a little tongue in cheek but  this weekend I was made aware of quite a few of the Dtd regulars that still had ambitions of making this. Despite finally selling my car this week the wife won't allow me to blow it all buying into this direct. :(

Could you see there being problems trying to book flights for some of the qualifiers who get in through the later sats?

Hi Stu

The food prices range depending on where you eat but here is a rough guide for you. The all inclusive includes all snacks etc during the day & evening and all a la carte restaurants are also included in the all inclusive price if that helps you make the decision.

Breakfast was between 10 and 30 dollars

Lunch was between 15 and 40 dollars

Dinner is anywhere between 20 and 60 dollars

I hope this helps :)

Hey

Sorry for the delay in replying I was getting an update on players attending.

74 players that will have qualified for their seat – that automatically includes their main event seat.

A lot of them are bringing poker players as their guests, although they haven’t bought into the events yet

43 players have paid for room. All of these are poker players.

We are aiming for another 50 – 100 direct buy-ins.

On top of this, we have 20 main events seats allocated for local interest though the hotel.

We’re also expecting players to turn up that have booked directly through the hotel.

All in all we’re expecting 250+ in the main event.

Names confirmed include

James Dempsey
Sam Trickett
Rob Yong
Erich Kollmann
Marcel Luske
Devilfish
Andrew Feldman

I hope this helps, it's hard to give exact numbers as I'm sure there are still players who are waiting to qualify and may buy in if they don't.

Cheers Nicola

Hi

Boss used one of their structures for this €1 re-buy and ran it across the network, its a fun format that they have used before, think it made around €2500 in the prizepool so €5000+ added, still pretty short considering you could auto-rebuy and chips!

There are 3 more of these €1 RB fests for next 2 Sundays, and the €100 RB for 3 seats starts tomorrow night, so that's 7 players qualifying per week now.

Cheers Aces

I feel bad about this overlay, but I don't particularly want to go to the caribbean and the software is just too awful, however much overlay you throw at it I can't play on this site.

For anyone that does want to go, there are currently only 32 players in this sat, several have gone out already and late-reg is still open.

well done wadey

he took my pants down and spanked me on final table when i tried to bluff him blind on blind i finished 8th wp wadey was a good tourment

think 5000 chip start would be better

i worked it out to be a 6000 euro overlay thou bassed on avg chips to players and that everone had add on and 3.5 rebuys still great value

when is the next?

Well done Wadey, Tricket just runs like god, he offered to back Wadey last week when we were all playing DC, following week Wadey binks the sat!

Overlay was €8k. Players keep asking for CPP satelittes on support/on forums/at club/ - and we still seem to get spanked every time, no mater what the format, whether its €1, €50 feeders into €770, £200 + 2 Reloads in club, or last nights €100 ULRB buy in - we get SPANKED :(

Agreed James, software is bad compared to Stars/Tilt/Party etc, never ever our fault that Boss took over Crypto.

Will keep trying :)

Cheers Rob

It's only for one person but it includes the flight for that person. Doesn't mention anywhere whether you'd be expected to share a room. I'd assume not but it'd be nice to know for sure.

I think the €7700 is for 2 + 2 kids, doesn't include flights but gives expenses for those instead.

That was how I figured it anyway.

Hey guys,

The €7,700 is all inclusive for 2 adults, 2 kids with expenses for flights, which doesn't fully cover 4 flights but for players taking more guests they will need to pay slightly more towards additonal flights!

The €5,800 is all inclusive for just 1 adult with expenses for flights (or a reserved flight seat if preferred) for that person only. However if players wish to bring guests they would need to pay for an additional flight (can be found in-direct for roughly £700 per person so only an additional cost of £500 if you take the £900 flight expenses). In terms of the room when you get there an additional guest can stay but their food, drink and activities wouldn't be included so they can purchase the all inclusive pass for £750 which should work out the cheapest way as it includes alcohol and everything :)

You won't be expected to share a room...unless we have any special requests lol :O

Any questions let me know :)

Cheers Nicola

no only 3 runners. Will 100% run today tho.

Edit. That's my opinion and not cast iron statement from Dtd tho. Anyone knocked out of the deepstack and has £100 in their sky rocket should give it a spin

Title: Re: DTD: Caribbean Poker Party

The CPP sat did not run last night

Amazingly, only 3 people wanted to play it

Undeterred, DTD have another go tonight.....

Looking at the Online Overlays, assuming this gets 10 runners the value will be enormous. £13,500 worth of value guaranteed..and unlikely to hit that....

So for £100 or £200 you could be flying to...

and listening to Wadey by the poolside whilst sipping a Pina Colada and watching Sophia, Nicola and Alex play beach volleyball

"So Tighty, I had 9-7 of spades in the big blind and I call. It comes 10-8 two spades and he wants to put me in. I mean what am I going to do?"

"Yes Wadey"

repeat as necessary

Funniest thing I saw on my window round was a woman tied naked to the bed with various things sticking out of different areas. I had no idea where her husband was because he was not in the house. It was a bit awkward calling round the next night to get paid. :)

Hi ,

First of all congrats to everybody working on this idea playng poker and have vacations in the same time in a place like this.

We are planning to travel from Greece 4 persons and we have already won 2 Sundays packages from the 820€ satelite and 1 from 100+ at Tuesday.

As no one else of our friends want to join us, we practically have one single room (all inclusive) worths 1550 £ without needed it.

So we can offer this room in a fair price to someone who interested to come on this trip.

pm me for details and talk about it

Hi Ioannis

Yes unfortunately the room will be under the name of the player who won the seat and therefore no other player will be able to claim the room.

Congratulations on winning your package :) See you in St.Kitts in 2 weeks :)

As far as I know the event isn't being blogged. I haven't been spoken to about going, so unless someone else has got lucky, I doubt it

the CPP definatly needs someone of you calibre to not only cover the comp but also all the other goings on. The Tightend CPP diary could be the best of blonde. Before we put up a staking thread to get you there just confirm you have a passport and are available to go :)

Hi
I have that question: lets say I win the cpp tournament. Am I supposed to pay any tax in my country? (I'm from Poland). How does it work for UK citizens? I know there is no tax in the casino at St Kitts. I also know that for example in St Maarten there is no tax because they obey the EU law (tax free casino wins). Please help me with that issue, thank you in advance and see you all at St Kitts :)

Hey

UK Citizens don't have to pay tax on their winnings in St.Kitts, however it will depend on the laws in Poland as to whether they will expect you to pay tax.

Blueace, do you think that would be allright to move to UK just after a big win and avoid paying tax in my country this way? I used to live for 7 months in UK last year, but I am afraid I don't have any bills or anything that can prove it... Well, I guess I will find out what to do later, after I ship the tournament ;)

Pretty sure it has to be sorted sometime beforehand, Eastgate tried to do that, I think, after binking the Main to fade a huge tax bill, unsuccesfully.

I thought i'd left it late!!

The reality is beginning to sink in - I've known this was happening since March and yet somehow it felt as though it wasn't real. I think it's something to do with the fact that my trip was just a bonus prize. That and the fact that it's a trip I would never have planned and saved for.
Today's weather has persuaded me that it's all good :-)

Just landed, it's great! Chilling out after a late night in Miami!

Pleno, you will struggle to come direct, transfers are from new York, Miami. Atlanta (I think) and puerto rico. Go all inc in resort if you come and trust me on that.

Really looking forward to meeting up with everyone!

Sun just setting here, about to go for dinner!
