Title: Tin of beans Post by: Mohican on April 08, 2013, 08:07:43 PM When I have beans on toast, I have the whole tin as shown on the right in the picture.
Was told at work that the correct amount for a single serving was the tin on the left and that I was being a Gannet. Problem is, the smaller tin would leave no extra sauce to wipe up at the end and not enough beans to fill me up. Am I a greedy gannet who needs to exercise some portion control or are my work colleagues talking drivel?? The beans have to be poured straight from the tin onto the toast - none of this reheating business, unless you actually want horrible grungy sauce and mushy beans. Title: Re: Tin of beans Post by: RED-DOG on April 08, 2013, 08:20:16 PM I like 4 slices of buttered toast with one spoon full of beans on each.

Rather just have toast with butter. Title: Re: Tin of beans Post by: Graham C on April 08, 2013, 08:33:25 PM Same with soup, a portion is half a can but I usually have the whole can when I have it.
I don't think there's anything wrong with, just that official portion sizes are small Title: Re: Tin of beans Post by: DaveShoelace on April 08, 2013, 08:36:58 PM I have the smaller tin for the reverse reason, I like to limit my bean juice.
I imagine this debate could divide opinion almost as much as the Thatcher thread. Title: Re: Tin of beans Post by: youthnkzR on April 08, 2013, 09:45:50 PM Cheesy beans VS Normal beans?
My vote goes with cheese everyday Title: Re: Tin of beans Post by: The_nun on April 08, 2013, 09:51:00 PM Have to be served with fresh green chillies finely diced.
Title: Re: Tin of beans Post by: Woodsey on April 08, 2013, 09:54:20 PM I made a random discovery when I was hungover on a sunday and had no bread in the house, I did however have a garlic nan bread in the freezer. Beans with sausages with cheese on top on a garlic nan bread is now my fav comfort food :)

Quote Q: Do I need to refrigerate Ketchup? A: Because of its natural acidity, Heinz® Ketchup is shelf-stable. However, its stability after opening can be affected by storage conditions. We recommend that this product, like any processed food, be refrigerated after opening. Refrigeration will maintain the best product quality after opening. That's best quality - not necessarily best flavour; cold suppresses the flavour of everything. Title: Re: Tin of beans Post by: bobAlike on April 09, 2013, 09:04:52 PM Cheers JMW.
