The unthinkable has happened, ladies and gentlemen... a Day Two has commenced at NINE IN THE MORNING and everyone is here!  Including me!

Snoopy bravely held the fort until about 4am yesterday/today, so we did a deal that he could have a lie-in if I could sleep yesterday.  So here we are - bear with me while I acquaint myself with the players and let you know what's happening on this rainy cold day in Grebbestad...

It's more than likely!  Although one table has already broken.. with blinds of 1,200/2,400 ante 400, the short stacks (spare a thought for the poor short stacks) are making their moves now.  After four hours' sleep.

One of these shorter stacks was sole Lady Player 'Jahelle' who just picked up the bullets with two players giving her a spin, one with Ad Qc and one with Qs Kc.  The Queen on the board was just a little teaser though, and she trebles up.

And it's the Congratulations Clap for Kjetil Tellefsen; I thought it would be one of those sink-into-floor moments when I received the "You're Out" clap - they do it for every single player, all the way through - but it's actually quite nice. 

I have to say a couple of things about the organisation here, which has been rather good:

When you take your seat, you leave the little card with your table and seat number on it in front of you the whole time.  You also get a piece of paper at the start with your actual name on it, which you keep throughout the tournament.  When you get knocked out, a Director hears the Clap and comes to retrieve your piece of paper and seat card, thus ensuring he knows exactly where you finished, and what seats are available. 

Having the little cards out also makes it unneccesary to label tables, which means that players can be reorganised at whim.

Also, and from a blogger's point of view, this is great stuff, before each major break a piece of paper is handed to the tables and the players put their OWN name and chip count on it.  It only takes a second and is invaluable to the reporters.  I would love to try this in the UK, but I have a horrible feeling there would be whingeing.  The Scandinavians are pretty easy going, it must be said.

And with the blinds rising to 1,500/3,000 ante 500 another table has broken with the elimination of Frode Walle ('Zubeldia') and one other.  I'll go get a peek at the current chip leaders now.

I've been tipped off by BA Kildalen as to the Climber of the Day - 'Inspector' who started with 30k and now has an unexpected 135k.  This is mainly down to one key hand, I'm told - a Ks Kh vs Tc Ts vs Ad Qs which gave him a nice boost upwards.

Seems like you've been enjoying yourself amongst all the norwegians, good to hear. Looking forward to get updates throughout the day...

Yes, I was very excited to visit Norway, in Sweden... a little confused, but having a good time!  Lovely tournament, weird setting, friendly people and a great atmosphere.  I'll do my best with the updates, but you really want Snoozing Snoopy, who got a handle on the Unknown very quickly yesterday and did a great job.  Ah well, you'll just have to make do with me for a few hours :)

Spetsern still there? I've seen at a list at wsop.info that he's out at 47th place...

The guy in the red tracksuit is 'kingai', I think.  I played on his table yesterday (it was his AQ I raced those crucial JJ to and lost), and he said not a word, in Norwegian, Swedish or English.  Rather intense stare which you can almost feel coming out of this photo... He's not got a lot of chips but I reckon he could get a lot further.  Lady 'Jahelle' is on that table, and I have got the world's worst ID pic of the white hat guy, whom I shall identify at a guess as 'Three Kings'??

You know anything about the payout structure or the pricepool jen?

I know a little... as ever the grey area over all of this means that the structure isn't being displayed on the board right now as there are cameras floating about, but I can tell you (because I asked) that 27th gets $2,000, then it goes up to $2,700 at some point, 18th gets $3,500 and top prize is $91,000.  More detail when I can steal a peek at the full payout structure.  Don't tell anyone ;)

Just now we had an all-in, called by Christian (I think) with Ad 6h, but the short stack held the  Aspades Ahrt and takes the double up - wait a minute - another all-in!

And it's 2d 2h vs. Kd Kh (the deuces of Helge Sternevrang (apologies for spelling) all-in... and the Kings eliminate Helge123 in unlucky 28th spot.

The clock is paused, not sure what's going on, but there's some kind of break...

I think there's going to be a redraw - oh, yes, I didn't notice them setting up bigger dealer tables right by the blogging area, that's how awake I am.

They're moving about two feet from us, which is handy.  And I think they're being rewarded with actual real dealers.  Who aren't them.

Allo there Tonji - yes we were placing bets on how many seconds we could both survive in this unbelievably chilly lake here - I think we got as far as 30.  Snoopy is taking a well-deserved nap, but as soon as he emerges from the hut thing the biting wind and drizzle should perk him right up.

Just had a quick chat with Helge outside, before I couldn't feel my fingers any more and had to come in.  He was remarkably cheerful, and said that this was his first big comp in a long time and he was in a good mood about the whole thing.  Always nice to see...

First in-the-money elimination - Kjetil Tellefson 'Tellef' finishing 27th.

The cutoff raised to 25k, and he pushed all-in on the button for less than double that with  Aspades 9c.  It couldn't have looked worse when his opponent showed 9h 9s - and the board came Qh 8h 3h 8s 4h to flush one of the nines. 

It's worth noting that Tellef's table has an average chip count around 60k, while Johnny Lodden's table has an average of around 150k... there is a great chip discrepancy, and there was no redraw, so those guys look to be the heavy hitters for the final.

Carlosgutten just lost a big chunk (well, most of his stack) in a blind vs blind battle with 8h Kc against the big blind's Ad 2c, but then chose the perfect hand for his double through - 5h 7d!   Ahrt Qc called him, but the 5s 5c Kc flop came, as I'm sure he knew it would... :)

And now his Jc 9s just took down DJAY's Ad 8c, spiking two pair and doubling through - Carlosgutten in a gambly mood this morning!

OK, Carlosgutten is just unstoppable - a threeway all-in was announced on a flop of 8c 5h Jc - and it was C's Js 9s which took out both of his shorter stacked opponents.  Three empty seats on Table 2, wonder who'll get to play on the Table of Doom next?

26th and 25th place finishers were 'Lara' and 'DJAY.'

Interesting double up involving the two guys with their backs to us on Table 3 here -

Boks got Pzyked all-in holding 4d 4c when he had the Pocket Ladies, but just look what happened next:

I was in full headless chicken mode yesterday and would have been like death warmed up at 9am this morning, a sight I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. How is Guntherthe Abbafan doing?

We're back and there's already been a double up for Faaascha with Kc Ks against Aspades Qh.  A flopped King eased the tension on that one.

And we're off again.

Fenster is down to just 4.5k after colliding with FatCat.

9s Js versus Ahrt 7s

It's never straight forward though, as emphasised by the Kh 3s Aspades flop.

No flush arrived though and FatCat receives a much needed double up.

And in a matter a seconds, Fenster is OUT.

He shoved in his lowly stack with Ks 2s, only to run into a decent holding in Yang Ying's Ahrt Jd.

J-5-A flop looked useless, but the Q turn gave Fenster an unlikely out. The J river wasn't so welcoming though.

We also appear to have lost Pzyked (24th?)

And just now Kjetting too has been eliminated, after he moved in with no less than Aspades  Ahrt.  Lystig called with 5c 5h and here's what came out:

There are 30 or so watchers spread between a kind of balcony thing over the main tournament barn, and behind a little row of chairs.  I think the majority of players just went home, though, or are behind the Curtain playing cash!

Well, I don't, but BA Kildalen does, as he tipped OeLoose to be the winner. He has a 44th place in WSOP 2003 (800 players) too (the same year that he won the Norwegian Championship Limit tournament, and finished as runner up in the No Limit main event). BA has made a post at wsop.info describing the young lad from the north.

Nice Call News Now -

On an Ace-high board with four clubs showing, Faaascha bet 20k on the river.  Yang Ying raised him another 35k, and after a while he called with Js 9h - which was a pair of nines, as it turned out.  His opponent said something in Norwegian which I reckon was "good call," before showing Qd Td and throwing his hand away.

Don't be deceived by stianhos' tiny stack.

Although 200k isn't massive, it's certainly not critical.

And finishing in 12th place was $ulle$ who couldn't recover from the previous hit to his stack and found himself all-in with Kh 9s against Morty Black's Aspades 3c.  Nothing happened, apart from the three pairing, so we're down to just 11 players.

The T.D. announced the prizes and the added WSOP seats, the small but intense crowd of spectators all applauded, and play has started, with the blinds about to become 6,000/12,000 ante 2,000 any minute now.

While we wait for the action to heat up (and heat up it will, just look at where Johnny Lodden and OELoose are, with the other biggest stacks in the middle) - heeeeeeeeeere's Snoopy!  (sends a shiver up the spine)

Fairly interesting hand here - Yang Ying raises a standard 36k raise in early position.  Faaascha string raises and is told he can only flat call.  Everyone else folds, including OELoose in the big blind - reluctantly.

Flop:  5d 5s Tc  OE makes a kind of "oh arse" kind of humph noise, and I must have missed YY's check because there was suddenly about 70k bet by Faaascha.  Yang Ying folds very quickly and is shown, er, Kc Jh.  Pretty odd all round.

And we have an all-in and potential exit...

Stianhos raises 40k preflop, Toon moves all-in from the small blind.

Could be a steal as he has enough to make the original raiser fold, but I doubt he's going to release Big Slick.

Shame he's up against pocket cowboys.

So Stianhos is the one moving all-in now in early position, and it folded round to Johnny Lodden on the big blind.  It was only around 75k, and after a bit of frowning descriptive of mulling a sort of middling decision, he went for it and called with 9c 9s - Stianhos had found a good time for the Qh Qd and they stood up, putting him back in the final running.

Now around 200k passes from small blind Lodden to big blind Morty Black -
With the board looking like 5s 4s Qs Qh Johnny bet out maybe 100k, Morty Black pushed all-in for around three times that (hard to count stacks sorry) and eventually Johnny folded.

He was shown 4c 4h.  The kind of board which could flush or trip you up, as it were...

OELoose doubles up due to a gamble call on his part.

He was faced with an all-in, and he decided to take a stab with Jc 9c, praying that he had live cards.

his prayers were answered when Faaascha flipped over Aspades Kc

And he was rewarded even more when the flop came...

Faaascha still had a fair few outs, but some were eliminated by the 6c on the turn which gave OELoose a flush draw to go with his pair.

7h blank on the river and the victor of the hands slaps his hands together in celebration.

More hot water for the chip leader - in a limpy threeway pot the flop came Kc 4c 3c.  It checked round.
Turn:  6s  This time when it checked round to Johnny Lodden he bet 36k (?am slowly picking up the numbers but it is in another language after all) and Inspecta called.
River: 6c.  Inspecta checked, Johnny bet 80k.  A long pause.  Call.

Inspecta showed a blind-provided 2d 3h to win with the (second) pair of threes.  Marvellous.

<aside>  There are little speakers in the corner of the room playing music at taxi-driver volume.  You can almost hear it if you're listening, but the players are probably so preoccupied that they don't even notice it.  Just thought how surreal it was to be watching a final table commentated upon entirely in Norwegian with "Under the Boardwalk" playing ever so softly in the background.  I like my job!   :D :D

In one of those small blind  moves, Yang Ying pushed in for his remaining chips with 3h 3d.  Fair enough, but Toon's push-in from the big blind with Qc Qs soon frustrated his hopes for even a race.  The board:  2h Jc 5h Jd 7h and the first final tablist gets the Congratulations Clap.

I'm sure the dude on the mic just said, 'Lodden winnen potten'.  :D

Carlosgutten is OUT in 8th place, winning $8,000

OELoose raised on the button, and I think it all got in with just one re-raise all in from Carlos on the big blind.  OE called with his Jh Qc (as you do) and found against him... 6c 7s.

The Queen flopped and it was curtains for the brave Carlosgutten.  He'd gone on a big old spin up run today, but that's a tough final table and it wasn't to last.

A rare 3-way pot (yes, you heard right, more than 2!):

Stianhos, Lodden, and Mortyblack see a flop of 2-3-4, the latter two in the blinds (small and big respectively).

A frenzy of action to report now involving young OELoose (incidentally, the only player from the last three tables to tablebang in any way when taking someone out, but he'll chill out, most likely) who raced his Ac Qh for a HUGE pot with Toon's Th Ts (forgive the suits perhaps being a little inaccurate).  I didn't see the initial betting, but 230k traded stacks after the board appeared, leaving OE the short stack.

He immediately found Ahrt Kd, and immediately resuscitated his small stack moving all-in and getting called by Toon's Js Jh.  He didn't win that one - but it got the audience nice and excited -

Enormous Make or Break Hand News Now (Well, Break News):

Johnny Lodden (small blind) and Inspecta (the button) got 245k in preflop, and saw 5s 6s 8s on the flop.
Johnny bet out 200k.  "All in," says Inspecta, immediately.
A long think, and then I believe Johnny said something like "gamble" but it could have been something Norwegian and called all-in!

Johnny showed:  Ahrt Js
Inspecta showed: 9s Ts

Turn:  5c
River:  7s!  "Sick!" I heard from more than one location, and

Johnny Lodden is straight flushed out in 3rd spot, for $36,000

Well, we were of the general opinion that Johnny Lodden probably wouldn't have bothered with a deal (although if we can track him down we'll ask him).  And now, there is such a huge lead for Inspecta that there's no compulsion there either...

But whereas at most big events in the UK deals have to be declared (they affect ranking points etc) over here that's probably not the case.

After calling a 120k bet on the turn with a board of Kd 4h 3c 2h, Mortyblack makes a very cagey check (after Inspecta also checks) on the ace river.

Inspecta mucked before he even showed his top pair.

From what I've been told, Johnny really isn't in it for the money and would probably snub talk of a deal.

Also, Mortyblack has been lowish chipped for a while now. It's a lot easier to split when everyone's got the same.

I think the players are too - and the little bar that has been providing hotdogs and much-needed coffee has abruptly shut!  Maybe I misheard, but I think the players rather desire a caffeine pickmeup...

Pots hovering around the 70k mark (well, they'd have to, what with the blinds being 15k/30k ante 5k) and there are quite a few check to the river and showdown hands.

Of the ones not just turned over at the end, I'd say Morty is probably winning a few more, but the chips aren't leaning heavily in favour of one or the other, and they've both dug in a bit.

Morty is down to 900,000 after folding Qc Jc on the following board:
