In the next week on the pitch

Captial radio summertime ball, Springsteen, The Killers

Will be interesting to see the stage built from scratch...

I might just try and look inconspicuous in a corner for a week...no one will notice one more?

Hello guys, some early hands to report with what looks like two exits.
Some action on table 25 with Matthew Davenport, who started on 240K getting it all in on the turn of a 5 9 J 6 board with A 5. Daniel Morgan in seat 7 holds 66's for the set.
Morgan doubles up and then the following hand Peter Linton makes it 21K. Davenport gets the rest of his money in with another call in the big blind.  6h  5h  2h. Linton's C bet gets through and he shows   Ahrt  4c. Davenport shows  7 8 and hits the 9 on the river for a straight to double up.

Then an exit on table 13 with Michal Polchlopek 3 bet shoving  Ks Qh and is (hesitantly) called by the initial raiser in seat 1 who holds  Ac Kh. The board runs  3c Td 6c 4d 6d to send Polchlopek to the cash desk.

Matt Dale flats

Tom Kugelstadt flats QQ in the big blind

Jack high flop

Tom checks

Dapiao leads

Dale folds

Tom shoves, happy that Albert will call with a Jack

Albert folds. First time for everything

Same orbit Dale wins a nice pot off Devilfish.

He turns round to tell a railer, and Devilfish grabs a pole on which a table number is, and bonks Dale on the head with it, playfully

Dale turns round unaware what has happened

Devilfish looks as innocent as pie....

On a flop of  Js Qc Jc Jerome Brion opens for 38K.

Devilfish to his immediate left pumps it up to 100K.

Brion flats.

the turn  5c goes check check

6h river see's Brion lead out for 126,000

Devilfish ponders and mutters to himself.

He calls and Brion shows  Kc 8c

Devilfish shows a J and among the expletives I pick up 'It's so bad its scary.'

Mitch Johnson has bust. He 4 bet shoved seat 8 with 66 on 8 3 2. He runs into the top set of his opponent. After the turn and river come  5s 2c he hastily makes his way to the cash desk while his opponent explains how the hand played out.

Not quite....

Opened early, he peeled bb and check raised, I jammed. Gl to the guys left in.

Juan Alban raises to 50,000 and Miguel Lacerda from portugal shoves for a million from the blinds

As you do with A-J with 40 left in a comp like this

Alban calls with Q-Q

J flop

A river to double Lacerda up to second chip leader

With a shrug of the shoulder, a la Cristiano Ronaldo when booked, and an unrepentant look, a la Luis Figo after a penalty box dive, Lacerda goes onward

Alban might have swallowed a wasps nest.

Just watched Rob Yong's interview with Michelle Orpe....a friend of mine, yes herbie I do have a few, texted me saying the ISPT was a failure....I replied an emphatic no!! An expensive project and loss for DTD in  money terms, but it was interesting to hear Rob's views on the overall numbers and delivery of the villae and experience, which I think most people who have attended will all agree has been an undoubted success. And yes Rob had the balls to take this one on.....So without wishing to blow smoke up his arse.....Congrats Rob and DTD as a whole. It looks the final table will contain to big names in poker lets hope a few of the qualifiers snaek in there too....wud be nice if Mickey Wernick got a big pay day after all his troubles!

Dem Aces for Elia Bassam again. He doubles up again.

Andre Moreira is becoming more and more a character.

He shoves on  Aspades 5d 4c 8s.  This leaves Damien Bas with a big descision as he asks  'Can I say what I have?' The floor say yes as he is heads up. At this point Moreira turns his phone music to full blast puts his sunglasses on staring at the felt, giving Bas no time to declare his hand.

Bas thinks some more and folds an A face up.

heard it was retained by ISPT people for putting him in as opposed to a dealer tip
Sam put in other players to the value of 27k,i don't think he needs the ISPT to buy him in.......but hey you know best !!!!!!

errrm suppose I better reply for clarification purposes. I heard Sam put in other players to the value of 27k which is amazing however irrelevant of that I dont think I ever suggested he NEEDED ISPT to buy him in, Also I certainly don't claim to know best; just saying something someone told me who is there...

Mickey Wernick is out

Jerome Brion raised pre, and Mickey called

Brion flopped a set of fives.

Wernick is calling down the streets and then shoves a flushing/straightening board on the river

Unfazed Brion calls the shove and is good

Wernick mucks

We have 36 left and are breaking to 4 tables

I sat beside her yesterday and was impressed. She didn't have a huge amount then. She played fairly tight early but then traded on it, reraising pre several times and getting folds there or on the flop. She showed AA once and, as I say, I think she traded on her image to build. I thought then that she could go far in this. Maybe further still...........

Players are now constantly checking the printed sheets with the payouts on, asking friends on the rail how much they have locked up and are discussing pay jumps. We are now down to 35, who are guaranteed at least €6,000 each. Next pay jump is at 27th to €7950. Then onwards to five figures. Average stack is 1,145,848.

Had a quick chat with Leigh Wiltshire

He has been far tighter than his table, not especially by choice but short of hands and short of spots

Saving up that run of hands for when it matters two tables out, lets hope

He has 750,000 or so at 12-24,000

Average 1.1m

34 left

Leigh is directly out of position to Julian Gardner and Freddy Deeb

I bet thats a real thrill, and the result so far is well deserved for someone who has given a lot of time and effort for recreational poker in the UK via APAT for a number of years and has many of that community willing him on

Hicks and Linton both over average, Hicks 1.4m Linton 2m+

Linton is incredibly focussed. We've all seen him, well I have, frankly dick around in smaller comps and only give it half effort but he's full on here. As we know, when that happens is a major talent and tough to play against

Karl has arrived to rail or bok Amy, depending on what happens. She must have close to 2m

Yes

Presumably with the streaming booked in for Wednesday there is a short day today or tomorrow on the horizon, so the tournament makes it to Wednesday!

Tom Kugelstadt came over to tell me about a hand, in the break

Fliorian Schultz opened in mid position to 50,000

Jerome Brion flats

Devilfish 150,000 on the button

Schultz 300,000 playing 750,000

Both call!

7h  Td 3c

All check

6h

Schultz all in 476,000

Brion call

Devilfish folds

Schultz 7c Tc

Brion Ahrt Ac

See, there is no value deep in these tournaments

that accounts for Brion and Schultz flip flopping on the counts above

Dan Morgan has just been eliminated before the break. He was all in pre with JJ against Xavier El Fassys 99. Xaviers' 9 on the river sends him into raptures as everyone else looks on. This man was down to 200K and is quoted as saying 'Like a phoenix back from the dead.'

Hicks and Linton both over average, Hicks 1.4m Linton 2m+

Linton is incredibly focussed. We've all seen him, well I have, frankly dick around in smaller comps and only give it half effort but he's full on here. As we know, when that happens is a major talent and tough to play against

We are down to 27. The average is 1,485,359. Remaining players have locked up 7,950 Euros with the next jump where 18th pays 10,500. We have lost 6 players in half an hour after dinner. 43 minutes left at 15,000/30,000/4000.

Cheers mate.

I finaled the 250 turbo yesterday and got 6th, was 6.6k up top or something with a field full of french players that erm.. provided a little value shall we say.

28 seems quite low compared to the 80 odd yesterday, worried it could be an stt by tomorrow.

Meh i'll probs flick it in anyways.

Thanks again and like I say yr doing an absolutely great job.

Huge hand on table 70. Janot Gwendoline opens for 60K

Andre Moreira re raises to 168K

Nick Hicks goes one more to 260K

Leigh Wiltshere looks reluctant in his pass.

Seat 5 Andre Andrade then shoves all in for roughly 600K

Gwendoline folds as does Moreira after a huge siighhhh. Hicks calls with pocket 10's.

Andrade shows AK.

The board runs out  Qd Qs Jc 3d 8c.

Andrade out, Hicks sitting good on 4.3 million.

Andre Moraria opens to 66,000

and so begins the most controversial hand of the tournament that takes many many minutes to play out

Leigh Wiltshire calls

In the big blind Freddy Deeb shoves a stack of chips over the line

He says nothing

The dealer colunts and announces 191,000

This is a mistake, It is actually 291,000

Moraria without saying anything puts in 380,000

Wiltshire folds

and then it kicks off

The table discovers that the dealer has made a mistake

Deeb is an argumentative so and so, very belligerent in debate and no quarter given

He maintains that Moraria has not put in enough to raise

Moraria says he was following the dealer in clicking back

Across multiple languages and multiple railers there is a hubbub

The floor is called

Several minutes later Simon Trumper is called

He listens to the players, listens to mthe dealer

He asks the dealer how he cut the Deeb raise, to see if the 100,000 blue chip that the dealer has not ben accounted for has been exposed

He rules that everyone has had a chance to see the blue chip, its clearly more than 191,000 and that Moraria is held to call 191,000 as he has under-raised

The key here is that neither Deeb or Moraria said anything, and that the player has to accept the dealer error and realise he had the opportunity to see it was 291,000 not 191,000

Deeb shoves

"You are lucky, I was going to do that pre-flop"

Moraria thinks and thinks and calls all in with A-K

Deeb, to ooohhs and aaaahs from an expectant crowd flips K-6off

He holds on the J-9 turn and river

Deeb goes second chip leader

Moraria is out of the room, storming, before I look up from my notepad

Hi guys, great job with the updates as always.

Do you have any idea how many runners the turbo got tonight?

Planning to come down for the one on tomorrow as long as they are likely to get 40+ runners.

Great job with the all the steps! :)

28 runners today Dom

I know Matt Perrins got to the final 3 of yesterday's £1k with £22k up top. Not sure if he won it though.

Good to meet you yesterday Dom and I took your advice and didn't deal. Was an interesting FT for sure.

Think Freddie or anyone else got every right to be argumentative when u playing for a milly n there's mistakes happening. Still, these things happen and can't see what the delay was, defo an under raise, poker's a visual game and dealer mistakes happen. Just saying raise then putting them in in instalments it far more fun when clicking back anyway

He has every right to fight his corner and I was just trying to show he was doing so, not trying to be critical

I gather one of things he was agitated about was that the Portugese player was talking to a Portugese blogger in his native tongue, before Simon arrived..so that all had to be sorted out too

Daniel Platten out in 23rd. He shoves his short 107K stack after some action between seat 3 Guiseppe Stagno and Pras Bansi. These two check down T K 9  and the A turn. the river comes  7h and Bansi makes a small bet which Stagno calls. Stagno shows A 3, but Bansi's J 8 for the straight is good.

Platten mucks and makes his way to the cash desk.

The  9d river see's El Fassy bet 600K which Freddy calls.

To his delight El Fassy is good with his flopped house (he has deuces)

Deeb has K Q

Have just spoken to Elia Bassam, at one point today he had 50K. He has had quads and doubled up with AA. He has just told me 'First Time. I don't play tournament poker. We play cash.'

This is his first tournament.

He did get very ecited when his 7 2 shove got through after hitting bottom pair, asking 'do you play 7 2 here?'

He is very excited to be going into tomorrow and has a decent support from the rail.

Play has ended with 20 left

We will have chip counts before we close up for the night

One of these 20 could potentially win €1 000 000 in the next 48 hours....

We have WSOP bracelet winners, WPT Winners, multiple nationalities, DTD regulars, a World Heads Up Champion, recreational players and one player playing his first ever Live Tournament......

An exciting field, what a mix..

Stay tuned for the chip counts....

Playing down to 9 tomorrow starting at midday

Who knows how it will work out?

50x bb average, and whilst it might be quick the prospect of getting in that final 8 or 9 and being part of a chop with €600k added might see some of it nit up?

We'll see......

Good work tighty, exciting mix of players left in, and some that might not be that quick to deal so anyone trying to ladder up to a final or top 6 might get a shock! Praz and his 20bb grind ftw

Obviously sweating my boys Pete and Nick, but if they cant win then I'd love Leigh to win. Have worked with him in a fashion, dealing at DTD when he was running APATs etc, and hes a lovely bloke.

If not the above, then maybe Deeb/Devilfish? Oldpros innit

Best of luck to Nik, Leigh, and Lintanon tomorrow.

I'm a little confused by the Deeb ruling, I thought that an under-raise of more than 50% went as a min-raise. It does in DTD afaik.

It is a nice theory that you should play it out, but a lot of people aren't going to have a ton of cash in their back pocket, or may be going through a bad patch.  There is always going to be a few at the final table who find it hard to turn down £100k.   And I can assure you, missing 100K on busting before the deal is going to sting a little for some time for most of those.

As others have said in the thread, the composition of the final 20 may mean that the chances of a deal isn't as likely as it would be if we got a final table of 9 small stakes recreationals.
