31  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Vegas Trip Information for anyone looking to go this year. on: January 25, 2013, 12:08:42 AM
Anyone got recommendations for a decent fry up in Las Vegas? Tried the Irish Pub near Orleans couple of years ago but I was sick after eating there Sad
Love the cafe (can't remember what it's called) in Treasure Island / TI. Do great breakfasts of all kinds including New York steak and any style eggs with hash browns + toast. mmmm, could eat right now.

makes sense guys. Was wondering when the > 50% rule would come in?
33  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: Floor! on: November 16, 2012, 12:13:57 AM
Raise I reckon as more than one chip and > 50% of initial bet.

If it's a call, does that mean that if player;

a. Bets 200 with x2 100 chips

and

b. puts in 600 with x1 500 and x1 100 chip,

then player b has called?

You need to join the flying club. You can do it yourself at no cost, or you could have someone (ahem..) refer you, in which case we would both get bonus miles.
No problem with you refering me, how do we go about it?
A few questions if that's ok?
How many bonus miles will I get if you refer me?
I booked with Virgin (maybe through Expedia), in the Summer, departed June 30th 2012. Will I get any retro points for this?
If I book for Vegas sometime this month, with a view to going next June, will I benefit or receive rewards?
How many miles a year do you need to earn for this to be worth doing? - was thinking of white card as no costs and could possibly spend upto £15k a year with holidays / work travel etc. included.
How do you get info regarding flights / points needed?

Cheers

Cotter.

Many thanks for the info Simon.

Do you need to join the flying club or have a Virgin credit card or something to enjoy these benefits?

Food
Grand Lux Cafe at Palazzo is top notch with a massive menu and great service. Well priced and don't need to book.

Now don't get me wrong i love a good old drunken stumble into Grand Lux as much as the next person but let's not go crazy. It's very average food but they are open all night, the portions are big and the service is quick. We are talking about someone's 60th birthday here, i appreciate not everyone is on an Alize budget but surely we can do better than a diner?
OP requested nice and not too expensive.
Defo more expensive places to eat and some are defo worth the money, but I think anyones Mum would love the Grand Lux.
Even if a 'better' place is found, still take your Mum here as well. Wood smoked pork chop, mash and brussells was a life saver for me this year, after eating rubbish for a week.

agreed, but i was on my own Sinon, and was $8 return.
Was back and forward to the Rio also each day and shuttle saved me approx. $25 per day for 2 weeks.

[why is that? Anyone staying in or near Harrahs who gets a taxi to the Rio when the shuttle bus is waiting, is mental!]
Also anyone going to Vegas and getting a shuttle or bus anywhere is mental!!

Airport
Cost about $25-$30 to Harrahs for taxi. Shuttle bus is about $8 return, and can be booked online. Takes you to the back of Harrahs and is very good. Can also get a free shuttle to the Rio from here twice per hour.

Shows
'O' at Bellagio very good as is Love at Mirage.

Poker
Venetian always good, but most places will cater for what you are looking for at various times of the day. The nearer to your hotel the better IMO.

Hating poker phrases during a poker game.
Hating small talk from relative strangers trying to be nice.

Sounds like you are all on tilt!

45  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: An interesting ruling I found on Facebook on: October 01, 2012, 12:18:54 AM
this exact thing happened at Luton many years ago.
Ruling was that as more than 1 player had acted, play should carry on with the player only having 1 card.
No 2nd card was given to the player but he could carry on with 1 card if he liked and play his 1 card + the board.
Can't remember if they then burned two cards pre flop, but don't think so?

Was this before Ratched confiscated the cigarettes or when McMurphy stole the bus?
[/it was before forums', or maybe I'd have written about it. Great film btw.]
