3.00 Kempton - Toosey

Now I know Catkin came 5th shame as a place would have been nice. The reason I mention Toosey is that the stable girl who daily rides out did give me positive feedback when I asked.

I tend to find you get a better answer than from the trainer - I am on it - but as my Mrs just said "You don't have to back all his horses"

Just got a gut feeling - this is one of his better horses.

Probably doomed it now.

The trainer imparted to me that Catkin should be in the frame in the next couple of outings. I have personally watched Catkin over a few hurdles down at the yard last week and it went well. My money is on but then I support the trainer as he is also my next door neighbour.

You pay your money and takes your choice. Not a cert.

Hi Peeps

All the gyms round my area all seem to offer the full facilities - but I have not come across one where their has been anybody on the weights - people all seem to be on the cycles or running machines.

So it is hard to access which one to join as normally you can speak to people and get a feed back - if anybody knows a good gym in the Herefordshire area please let me know.

Thanks

The Upside and Downside of this in my view is as follows:

Downside – Going to court, the fine will not be overruled whatever the morals of the case the Judge is there to rule the letter of the law.
So Lee will incur extra costs and an increased fine.

Upside – If the exposure that Lee generates increases donations to the charity and covers his legal costs, then it’s a win situation.

I would go crowdfunding to pay the legal costs and raise finances for the charity. Crowdfunders love a good story.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but apparently the maximum amount of bitcoin that can be mined is 21 million and this will take until 2040 - if this is correct then BitCoin is precisely that, a bit.

Bill is a very funny bloke - we have had a few beers over the years. No I do not know Gazza - never come across him in a personal capacity, in the mid eighties through to 2000 I use to own a publishing and sponsorship company - so I have crossed paths with more sports people than I can remember - My monday, weds, and friday nights rolling into saturday morning was spent in pubs, restaurants and clubs and some notorious dives.

An interesting night would be when you had the rugby players and the footballers in the same pub, the majority of the footballers were from working class backgrounds - council estates and the rugby lads would be on the whole be well educated and have other jobs in the city or such like - Rank Xerox at one time employed 40+ rugby players who never did any work just picked up their pay checks (still semi professional in the eighties) nobody would mix until they had half a dozen pints then it become a partie - the rugby boys on the whole would out last the footballers.

That said I use to outlast them all.

Interestingly if you really wanted a piss up, lasted 2 days, the cricket team down under would slaughter everybody.

So its kind of funny really when you ask people to name great players from all sports you always get a mention of players from that era - some of who have left the party on a Saturday morning only to be playing at the highest level on Saturday afternoon.

Christ I could mention loads of incidents, fights and a donkey but I would have to redact the names and places.

They were  the good old days.

I was just thinking about how different things are now for professional sports people.

My nephew has just broken through to the 1st team squad of a top premier league rugby team, it’s all about mental and physical training now and the correct dietary requirements.

Whereas back in the late eighties and early nineties I had a mate who was first division  then premier league, footballer and regular England squad player, a mate who was a regular England rugby player and a guy who was (still an amateur sport then) a England squad field athlete.

They all had one thing in common – very little training – no dietary – no mental coaching. They also loved a good time. They were also winners.

They all had talent and bags of ability – and the comradeship of going on the piss with your mates knowing whatever happened, it stayed within the circle.

How things have changed – and yes they were world class players in their time, would they make it in today’s era – certainly.

Good Fortune to you all.

Apparently no virus at the Williams stable - just a bout of the horses not wanting to run. Her yard is only down the road from me - but as Marvin would say I have heard it through the grapevine that there could be a sudden turn of fortune at Chelty so watch for any runners she has there.

Interesting we have another horse that I thought might run this year - but I have been told categorically that the horse has decided he doesn't fancy running this year and is basically saying F**K Off to the trainer and all. Better win next year or France will beckon.

Okay - have spent the morning at the stable and out on the gallops watching Brushed Up and others having a work out.

Brushed Up will probably have one more run this season at the end of Feb we anticipate a good run.

Two others to keep your eye on and who should make very good showings are Ask Catkin & Toosey, the team are very impressed with Toosey and anticipate a visit to the winners enclosure soon.

One other to look at is Loud as Lions whose family hails back to Night Nurse - beautiful creature  and could surprise.

Finally Venetia Williams is having a out of sorts season but that could well change for Chelty - so just keep an eye out. Will probably post late on the 11th March as will be getting an insight on a few runners from Mr P Scudamore and others including Tom our trainer at a Chelty preview dinner.

Is that 2k or £200 a day.

The 3rd way - get a solicitor to write to Casinos compliance officer - this will start a legal chain process and you will definitely get a response though you may not like the answer.

Plus it will cost.
