Well, that's your lot from me afraid, but what a three days it's been. Although I've been solo for the majority of it, I have to confess, this year's Walsall GUKPT may have been the most hectic, action packed leg I've attended. Every time I sat down there seemed to be an exit or a double up, and failing that, some entertaining banter, predominantly with Paul Parker or Josh Tyler at the centre. On a similar note, it's been great to see a talented Sunny Chattha make the final table (I agree, he's due a big 'un), as well as Mickey Wernick who showcased glimpses of old by grinding his way onto the final table - good luck to both. But don't count out the other seven, they're a lively, dangerous bunch, so there should be plenty of fireworks tomorrow. I'll certainly be interested to see who manages to get their greasy paws on that highly sought out trophy.

Many thanks to the Grosvenor and BlueSquare for their hospitality, Fran who helped me out for the first few levels of Day 1a and, of course, Chompy who sponsored the update and made it all possible. Just in case this is my last update for blonde, I'd finally like to say thank you to the readers of the thread and any of you who complimented the coverage. Many thanks, it didn't go unnoticed.

So, on that note, there's just one thing left to say...

Why would this be your last snoops?....... please don't leave us!

Hi Snoops it was me asking after Ian Nelson, get you get his current chip count for me please?

Certainly. He has 30,500 and is currently sharing a table with Neil Blatchley, Alan Vinson, Martino Libertini and Ved Madan.

Thanks snoop.

Tikay-O, Lord of the Thunderblondes, meets his second in command and most trusted protector, Tightgra, at the blonde's Lair. "What is it?" asks Tikay-O while stroking his mane inquisitively. "Great news," replies Tightgra, his tail swishing excitedly behind him. "We can update Walsall!" "How so?" asks Tikay-O with his whiskers a quiver. "We have no milk with which to bargain with." "Oh contrare, Lord Tikay-O," comes the response. "There has been a donation." "But from who?"

The door slides open and in pounces Chompthro, his trusted fighting stick in one hand, and a bowel of milk in the other. Tightgra's eyes bulge as he spots the milk. "I am the mystery sponsor, your Lord." "Chompthro!" exclaims Tikay-O. "It cannot be, you haven't won a comp since the eighties. Have you struck gold in the Third Earth lottery?" "No, Lord Tikay-O, I managed to sell the Hoverblonde for this bowel of milk, with which we can now use to pay an updater at Walsall." "Why Chompthro, you're a genius," praises Tikay-O. "We never needed that bloody thing anyway. I mean, we're not Top Gear, how many vehicles do we want, what's wrong with just using the blondeTank?" "Well, I like the Tank, my Lord, but he's not the brightest." "No, I mean the vehicle, you buffoon." "I agree with you, Lord Tikay-O," purrs Tightgra excitedly. "We don't do EPTs anymore, so we have no need for the Hoverblonde, and I do love a spot of milk. Is it Pasteurised?"

As Tikay-O goes to take the milk, Chompthro pulls back. "There's one condition though," he warns. "My arch nemesis and ever-living source of evil, Sicilian-Ra, must be insulted in the tournament clock." "This can be arranged," answers Tightgra swiftly. "Sicillian-Ra has a Broadband connection in the Black Pyramid and will undoubtedly read the insult." On that reassuring note, Chompthro passes Tikay-O the milk.

"But who can we lure in with our newly acquired milk at such short notice?" asks Tightgra worriedly. "Don't worry," calms Tikay-O as he casually lifts his sword into the air. "THUNDER!" Tikay-O swipes the air with his sword like a child with a light saber. "THUNDER!... THUNDER!" Tightgra checks his watch and waves his hand impatiently. "THUNDERBLONDES HOOOOOOOOOO!!!" There's a flash of light and, from the pulsating Eye of the Thundera, a giant symbol of a blonde poker chip with a naked woman in the middle appears in the sky. "Wow, you can see the nipples when it's that big." observes Tightgra as his tail wags frantically. "Is she the Ho?" asks Chompthro.

In a nearby village, former Thunderblondes WilySnoopy and WilyFloppy are participating in a spot of heads up for rolls. "You're getting pwned, ya fish," slates WilyFloppy. As WilySnoopy looks up at the summons in the sky, WilyFloppy swipes some chips from his stack. "Lolz, I wonder what they want," ponders WilySnoopy. "They probably want us to update Walsall, imo" replies WilyFloppy, adding the chips to his own stack. "I read it on the forum earlier." "Well, I'd hate to be greedy, Grosvenor Walsall is possibly the most exotic location on Third Earth with its er... nearby cinema and stuff. Why don't you take the job?" "No, 'fraid not, it's my mother's birthday. You should go." WilySnoopy rubs his chin pensively. "Well, I suppose they do have a free buffet. It's not tez is it?" "[ ] Course not, it's tippety-top," replies WilyFloppy rubbing his stomach. "Yum yum, Walsall buffet ftw." "Well, in that case, I'll do it." WilyFloppy sniggers mischievously as WilySnoopy jumps on his tractor and makes his way towards the giant chip.

WilySnoopy joins Tikay-O, Tightgra and Chompthro in the blonde's Lair. "Thanks for offering to update, WilySnoopy," says Tikay-O. "There's a bowel of milk in it for you if you can survive three days." Tightgra turns to Chompthro and whispers, "Ha, he wont' stand a chance going solo with that field, he'll collapse before the end of Day 2 and that bowel of milk will be all mine... all mine! You hear me, aaaaall mineeeee!!! Moahahahaha!" "Yes, I hear you," growls Chompthro. "Stop shouting, you're meant to be whispering." WilySnoopy looks over suspiciously as Tightgra licks his lips.

"Survival will be easy," claims WilySnoopy confidently, as I have a secret weapon. Suddenly, the window flings open, a pole hits the floor and in vaults LittleMissCheetara, notepad and pen in hand. "Meet my helper for the weekend," continues WilySnoopy. Tightgra's shoulders drop. "Oh fiddlesticks, I really wanted that bowel of milk." "Come on, hop to it!" orders LittleMissCheetara as she pokes WilySnoopy's tush with her pole. "Can't stand around here all day, we've got an update to do."

Fan bloody tastic, great to have you back snoops, now i need to catch up with the rest of this thread.

hate to say this but I am sure a lot of the readers on here will agree. Without live updates you will go the way of poker trillion. They are the number one reason people come here. Ok they may not generate revenue directly but without them you will never get any new players onto your card room and unique user hits to your site will drop massively which will effect the banner advertising revenue (be it pay per click/affiliate or direct sponsorship).

letting snoops and no flops go imo will prove to be the biggest mistake blonde have ever made as you have rightly said they both ARE blonde. God help you if awop or any other firm snap them up as they are both updating gods and huge assets.

I am not trying to inflame things here as I am sure this really hurts you to do but by letting these two go I feel its only a matter of time before the last one to leave should please turn the lights out. Its a shame to see but if AWOP/pokernews/cardplayer etc all run better business models then you then you should be looking at the people who run the business/generate revenue for the site before getting rid of the real assets- snoops and floppy always did their jobs very well and its obviously other peoples fault that blonde is in the state it is currently.

without live updates you are just another poker forum (of which there are many). Your updates were unique because of the ones who are now being punished due to other peoples failed business acumen.

I for one totally agree, fantastic post Russ.

Hi Steve,

You might agree, but the Post was made on a false premise. Most people do NOT come here for the Live Updates - only 25% do. See here......

In reality, it was just a thinly veiled attack on Tighty, later admitted by the Poster, who was nursing a grievance following the ban-stick some years ago.

We will NEVER do a "Poker Trillion", because we are honest.  And that's exactly why we did what we did.

Hope you are well, & in good heart.

Hi Tony, i am in good heart thank you for asking, i have now read all of this thread and agree with you that needs must, it just seems such a shame to loose (even for the short term) a commodity like Snoops.

I have been in business for the last 20 years, i have never made anyone redundant nor have i had to lay anyone off during this period, even if it meant struggling through some very difficult times. How would you feel if Snoops was snapped up by one of the other sites?.... Don't answer that as i already know the answer.Business is business and you need to do what you think is best, hope you are well and manage to get through these very difficult times.

Ps. sorry to hear about the Poker Trillion sarga.

Steve Read.

it just seems such a shame to loose (even for the short term) a commodity like Snoops.

Despite what has been implied by others, what makes you think I do NOT think it's a shame? And he's not a commodity, he's a good friend, who has been totally loyal to me, & to whom I have been totally loyal, in ways (mutually) you could not even begin to imagine. What would you say if we tried to keep him, but ended up grimming him for his wages? That'd it'd be unfair? Yes, it would.

How would you feel if Snoops was snapped up by one of the other sites?.... Don't answer that as i already know the answer

Do you? Really? So you already know he already works for other Poker sites. With our blessing. (Like he needs it). Regularly?  And good luck to him, so he should. And if he departed us permanently, well that'd be a very sad blow for me. But I'd rather he left, & went elsewhere, than I risked grimming a top man for his wages.

If we did not pay his wages, & knocked him, I know exactly who the first ones would be to tell me I'm out of order.

Although we have not allway's seen eye to eye Tony i am actually agreeing with you here, my written words sometimes let me down, i am not as literally gifted as the likes of yourself and Snoops, which is why he'll be such a loss!

A lot of people seem to be unaware that the updaters already do work elsewhere.

Until i read this thread i was not aware of this, but i still think that Snoops will be an enormous (even if temporary) loss to Blonde, but as i said.... needs must.
