Hi, I'll be in Vegas on Saturday and was thinking of playing the $1500 NLHE event. I'll be flying in from NY and cutting it fine for time. I have never played a WSOP event before. If the event starts at 12pm how much time do u need to register? Do these events fill up or can u turn up at 11:55pm, sign some forms, pay ur cash and enter the tournament?
Thanks for any advice

Hi, this is Gavin Simms here. Snoopy says I should say hello (after we shared a few PM's). Not quite sure what a Blondeite is (guessing it's something to do with Dave Colclough, who was on my right for a bit on day 1b...??)

The A77 flop was unfortunate, because William had didn't hit any of it (he had KQ or KJ). I had A7c ... so dream flop...

I couldn't raise because I hoped Roland would have a hand and would raise behind me ...

Once he folded and William checked gthe turn that was it I thought. No more money to be had.

Was a lot of fun, but definitely much more luck than skill in tourneys than cash, which is probably how a fish like me gets to do well once in a while.

Down to 10, we lose 1 more player then go 9 handed, then lose 1 more for the day.

I just heard my SNG is filling, 2 more seats left in the €30,000 SNG.

Can I ask the obvious daft question - do these people carry big pocketsful of wonga to play these games, or are they considered "good for it" - ie they will send the winner a cheque when they get home .

If that is the case I might come over for one Smiley

boing!

That's a good question. I'm intending to head out to Vegas (for the first time) to play one of the WPT events and have no idea (yet) how to get a reasonable amount of US$ into the country...

Fwiw Mark Teltscher was on my table at the start and seems like a really nice guy. Said he was more of a backgammon player and a friend of Gus... Well done to him.
