Stars Hot 44 last night

Blinds 200/400

Villain is Run dat Game who is a good reg as I understand it. He has 34K
Hero has 16K

No stats on Villain but he has been opening a lot of pots and using his stack well. We had a confrontation approx 10 mins earlier where I 4 bet shoved 44 pre from the BB after he limped/3 bet the SB. He folded. Apart from that I have been trying to stay out of his way.

Villain open utg+2 to 800
Hero is utg+3 and has AKss and raises to 1850 (sizing?)
Villain calls

Flop 677 (2 hearts)

Villain checks
Hero?

Might be a trivial question but is c betting this flop abs standard. Just seems like we are going to get called a whole lot of the time. Maybe I'm just a pussy! .

Hey mate, hope married life is treating you well!

I think what tl900 said is right (as usual)

If u cold 4bet it can defintely look FOS so btn may jam some pretty weak hands. CO will prob have to have something pretty decent to continue tho since hes got to worry about both of u

Hi mate, married life going good thanks. Poker......not so good!!! Need some of the Hulme run good!!!

Thanks for the responses guys. Good to get input from better players than me. Still unsure as to whether 4b/c or 4b/f against either oppo is right. Think its pretty close either way given the lack of reads/notes/dynamic. Incidentally I butchered the hand and jammed pre.....button had it!!!

Mini FTOPS $33 buy in (re entry)
250K GTE
Blinds 500/1000

We are very new to the table, literally 5 or six hands in. No notes or reads on opponents. We have just lost a 20bb AIP pot where we opened AJhh from utg+2 and called a shorties re-shove so could be perceived as being slightly tilted.

Cut off opens to 2k playing 90k
Button 3 bets to 5k playing 57k
SB folds
Hero in BB finds AQ off suit playing 43k

Hero should?

I like the squeeze pre but as others have said would make it a tad bigger to try and take it down uncontested. Rightly or wrongly, when he flats the open and then your 3 bet OOP I immediately assume he's a FISH! What sort of range are you assigning him here? Mid pairs, suited broadways/connectors?

Def agree with checking back the flop for pot control. If we get raised on this flop we are going to hate our life and we do have showdown value.

My immediate thought was to call the shove but after some consideration and given his recently acquired FISH status, I think I puke a find a fold here mate. Just feels like he's found his gin card and turned the flush and being ultra fishy trappy by check shoving.

This basically boils down to the assumptions I have made about the player from his pre flop action. If you were to tell me that he was actually a genius I may reevaluate my opinion. I just think a solid player leads their made hands/semi bluffs on the turn though.

AH Mr Perchard! I'd deffo shove this. With the antes being so big in stars hyper turbos you add so much to ur stack if you get it through and ur not in terrrrrrrible shape vs anything except AA.  10 off the bubble isn't close enough to be considering folding to the money even if there are some real shortstacks.

Hello mate, when are nets starting?

Cheers guys. Good to know I'm doing something right!

Did shove and got looked up by in the SB on this occasion. Outflopped him with the two hearts but unfortunately he turned a Royal Flush draw and rivered the absolute nuts!

ty for feedback guys.

sorry didnt make myself clear. I meant calling pre. with pot/impled odds of 2 big stacks what can we justifiably peel with pre in this spot.
12  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Popping a Blonde's Cherry on: November 01, 2011, 03:23:01 PM
okay I fudged up by not folding pre but what is the bottom of our calling range in a spot such as this?
13  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Popping a Blonde's Cherry on: November 01, 2011, 12:59:42 PM
Been lurking in the background for a while now reading a few of the diaries but in particular the hand analysis. I really rate the opinions of certain individuals on Blonde although things do get a tad too technical for my little brain at times!  Anyway, after lots of umming and ahhing I have finally decided it is time to man up and put myself forward for a flaming on the PHA board!!!

Here goes…......

History
Villain seems competent. Opening a reasonable amount of pots and not seen him do anything out of line.
In the last 10 hands I have been all in twice. Firstly when I 3 barrelled QQ on a J high board and secondly when I turned the nut straight and over shoved the river. Wasn’t called on either occasion. The reason I mention this is that given these recent events it is likely my opponents think I am pretty spewy (which at times I definitely can be!) and this definitely had an impact on how I played the hand.

Would appreciate feedback on:

a)   Is this a standard fold pre?
b)   How bad/good is my line?

Thanks in advance.
Tom
