Where are you now Pilf?!

1st thing to say is, Eck, that is the worst picture of me from any APAT event, so thanks very much for putting that up.
This of course means I am alive. I'll update you on the eventful journey back to my hotel later, but am a bit too busy at the mo' what with catching up on all my work here and I'm having double glazing fitted today which means I have to deal with all that also. If I genuinely set off back at 3am, (which I don't think I did) it took a good 2 hours!

4  Poker Forums / The Rail / Techie Question - Problems accessing Blonde Poker on: February 26, 2007, 05:49:00 PM
There is a thread o nTHM forum from Byronkincaid who is having problems accessing the site.
His problem seems to be shared by a few others also. Is anyone aware of what the problem could be?
I, of course have no idea about this kind of thing.

I am not taking any chances anyway, i've told em to remove it or they can shove their phones and their contract.

I'd advise that whilst dealing with mobile phone companies you exercise extreme caution. I'd certainly pay the charge and try to claim it back later.
When you sign up with a mobile phone company all of your bill payment history etc is recorded on your credit file.
Once something bad goes on there, believe you me, you will have a torrid time trying to get it removed, and the fact that it doesn't warrant being there holds no sway what so ever.
On 1 occasion I failed to pay an incorrect bill only to resolve the issue the next month and but was already marked up with a missed payment.
Although this pales into insignificance compared to the Water board who gave me a CCJ when I moved into my new house, for not paying the previous occupants bill. This is still on my record 6 years later!! Hate to think what this must have cost me in this time.
6  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: So how did APAT cardiff go?? on: February 26, 2007, 01:26:46 PM
I saw that. Albeit from the other table. 99% sure this happened.
Early position All in, verbal declaration. Folded round to Mark in button I think. He announced Raise (Would prob have put him all in, not sure tho') as he hadn't heard the earlier all in. This was pointed out when he tried to raise less than the All in. TD called over to advise his declaration was binding, the original raiser however who had called the TD over accepted it was a genuine mistake and let him off the hook (I guess he was prob on a steal and didn't actually want a call)

I'll definately be trying my luck up in Scotland.
Provided I can get a seat of course. I don't think I've ever ventured to Scotland before so it'll be a new experience for me.

Still no word on the winner eh? I'm sure all will be revealed shortly.
It looks like Mark Donnely will fly to the top of the overall rankings with his result (wherever he finished)
I just made it out of Cardiff before the big football exodus thanks to the game lasting over 100 minutes, phew.
I took 13th in the end, could have been much better but cest la vie.

Is the Nintendo Wii thing with it's motion capture thing any good? Or a gimmick you'll tire of in two weeks.

I got my Wii delivered this weekend. I definately think it will have staying power, but I'm not one of these that'll sit down for hours on end with any games really.
I think once software developers have had a bit of time to play with this and get the best from it then there will be some excellent games and concepts produced for the machine. Better used in a space with a bigger tv I guess than in a bedroom cramped in front of the portable. Mine will now live in my living room.
I think it's definately one for the whole family, but I guess technically the PS3 is going to be the best machine.

Also I have internet access on my mobile so will post any exciting updates from my table as and when.

Matt, there is no secret entrance.

"and 5 Guests are viewing this board"

It is a secret cloaking device that hides usernames. I don't know how to access this tho'

Quote from John Duthie taken from another site. (Assuring everyone that the EPT event would not be affected)

This much smaller tournament was cancelled by the Monte Carlo government for the simple reason that they were advertising and intending to hold cash games, which are currently strictly forbidden under local gaming regulations.

It's a good raise if you follow Doubleup's line.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I think this is the right play then, checking the turn and re-evaluate the river. Or at least this fits in with my normal play more than some of the other suggestions.
I'm happy with my play apart from this street.
As it happens I bet the turn for (a hopeful)875 which the opponent flat called again. I don't know what I was expecting him to fold tho'. I think I saw the 4 clubs and had a bit of a headrush.
I guessed now I needed to get a lucky river but a blank came and we checked it.
Opponent showed AQ to take the pot.

Early hand from FT $300k last night, I'm not sure if I played this horribly or not yet? I don't think so but would like your opinions please?
