I'll definately be trying my luck up in Scotland.
Provided I can get a seat of course. I don't think I've ever ventured to Scotland before so it'll be a new experience for me.

Brilliant stuff Mark - was backing you to take it down. That's two silver medals now, and you'll have to come to Scotland now to get a third or go one better.

Sorry we could not Update from the Venue, we could not get the Vodafone Dubree to fire up.
It ended up a blonde 1-2.
The runner up was Mark Donnelly, blondeite dougal7878, who occupied the same position in the APAT English Amateur Chamnpionship at The Broadway - 2 x 2nd places, how gutted must he feel?
Winner was blondeite janjellis, (?), Lee Mulligan, who's a serving Major in the Army, & a most worthy winner. He made some quite spectacular calls, including, when getting a bit low in the semi, a call all-in with 4-5 suited in the BB against a persistently bullying deep-stacked SB. And, with three left, he Raised & got Re-Raised. He dwelt for fuly 3 minutes, staring down the re-Raiser all the time, & eventually called with J-T, to find his opponent holding.....5-3.
A young Lady called Linda Uliwiauk (spelling...) who won the British Ladies Open (or some such) at Star City last year was 5th, I think.
I don't have the other results to hand, but they'll be Posted on here later today by Tighty I expect, sorry, my mind has gone a blank, & I have a splitting headache, it was a hard & gruelling, but most rewarding, weekend. I'm getting too old for this lark when I can't remember the names of all the Finalists 24 hours later, sorry.
But kudos to the winner, Lee, he'll be a great ambassador for APAT, as were our previous two winners, Daniel & Max. Lee won £4,000, and a $9,000 EPT Dortmund package. Not bad value for £75, (and no juice)!
I'll Post other details as & when my mind clears, but huge thanks to Grosvenor Cardiff, & most especially Irene, blondeite Sean (S3an), & Gareth, they were magnificent.
Gareth, the assistant Card-Room Supervisor, told me he'd been dealing for 8 or 10 years, going back to the Isle of Man Poker Million, & he'd never seen a Tourney with such a friendly atmosphere in all that time. Happy days.

Congrats on another 2nd place Mark! Although things could have been different if that judge's ruling went against you when down to the last 2 tables. I was glad to see common sense prevail on that occasion.

I saw that. Albeit from the other table. 99% sure this happened.
Early position All in, verbal declaration. Folded round to Mark in button I think. He announced Raise (Would prob have put him all in, not sure tho') as he hadn't heard the earlier all in. This was pointed out when he tried to raise less than the All in. TD called over to advise his declaration was binding, the original raiser however who had called the TD over accepted it was a genuine mistake and let him off the hook (I guess he was prob on a steal and didn't actually want a call)

It happened on my table. UTG guy verbally pushes but doesn't move his chips. Mark was in SB and pushed. He didn't see or hear the original raise (Mark was wearing his headphones at the time). When someone pointed out there has been an earlier push, Mark mucked his cards. The TD & Tikay got involved and Tikay explained that normally Mark should lose the equivilant in chips (UTG had about half of Mark's stack at the time). However UTG conceeded it was a genuine mistake and let the matter pass.
After speaking to the UTG guy afterwards, he didn't realise Mark had mucked and he was therefore entitled to his chips. I think he was regretting being so lenient!

Yeah was on the table and still in the hand myself as was BB, Mark was SB It was a genuine mistake and common sense prevailed.
Mark announced raise not realising utg was all in without moving his chips. As soon as he realised he apologised and mucked.
Had he been forced to loose all his chips (as he had mucked) (think he was the short stack against the all in) it would have forced me to call the orignal bet with my rags cos of the odds putting me all in..
It would have been a horrible way for Mark to go out, admittedly the letter of the law says what it says but I think in the atmosphere and corinthian ethos of the tournament the right decision was made.
