I'm still awake!

Wasn't it Mads who won the J7 hand?

Has the 10K krone event finished?

Mads Andersen is a former backgammon world Champion - won the title in 2002. A lot of the stong danish poker players originally started in backgammon - most notably Gustav Hansen (who was known as Gustav Jacobsen back then), Lars Bønding and Mads Andersen.

I'll add some local inside info.

I'm not sure how it works in other countries, but in Denmark, a child is baptised 2-4 months after it's born. Most parents decide on the name of the child after it's born, but obviously before it's baptised.

This morning the newest member of the royal Danish family was baptised. In this country, any royal event is a big event, and it's been on the national TV channels all day. The name of the prince, who will one day become king (unless we come to our senses and gets rid of the monarchy), has been the source of much speculation, and all major bookies have been taking bets on it.

I have no idea what the party at the hotel is about though.

Anyway, keep the updates coming. And get something to eat!

Hello all. My first post, so be gentle :-)

1) Great reporting guys! I live near the hotel and went to watch some of the action today. I don't blame you if you find the service at the hotel terrible (I know I do), and being Danish I'm not particularly proud of that.

2) I don't know if it's ok to post links on this site, but if you go to http://www.infocast.dk/berlingske/mediamaker.php?id=1959&category=192 you'll see an interview with ms. Gundesen. In Danish, though... But I can tell you she's 29 years old, law student, qualified via 13$ rebuy-tournament. I don't know her, and I'm not affiliated with the site providing the interview. There's also links to a interviews with Moneymaker (Poker:Moneymaker taler ud) and Joe Hachem (Verdensmesteren i poker er i Køben...)
