You said they take an hour to fill.

Why does this affec t your decisions?

I may be wrong to assume that the time he played 72 he already had put chips in the pot and felt like he had to 'protect' them.

This is why the limp is better in this situation (not usually no matt)

You raised your 99 and I assume he will fold hands like 72.... whereas first in he may play anything and even more so if you limp cause he wants to bully.......so.............. limping with 99 increases your chance of being in against a worse hand..........and it also gives you some (although not a lot by the sound of it) folding equity.

fold

but I would not have raised the 99.
If you were gonna play it he may not move all in if you limp, he may only raise, giving you a chance (if you so choose)  to be the one moving all in first if he gives himself enough room to fold.

But against the kind of hands he was playing, AK is much less vulnerable than 99.

Does how long you have to wait to play affect what is the right move?

Thanks to ALL of you for pointing out my mistake Smiley

I'd just been reading tanks AA against K7 hand so when I saw the K7 on board I thought it was 2 pair Smiley

sorry............easy fold, the bet of 3k was way too big.

This is an easy call for me, every single time.
I do not get why you would fold at all, and even more so why you would bet and then fold!

If he has you beat so what, you flop 2pair you play it.

The turbos take 20 mins max and your profit margin is being one of the 3 or 4 that understand how quick the blinds move.

If you are called by AJ one time and 22 the other time this is perfect.

This style of play and the way you know how to play the bubble...especially when you have chips.........your ROI will be way above the 8% you were hitting at Stars.

btw tank, was it a speed or turbo?

That kind of stupid all in on hand one stuff happens often in those.

If you are lucky enough to be dealt AK or something first level, you move in someone will call most of the time and it will often be a weaker ace, great stuff.

Before I got to the bit you said his cards I guessed he had AQ of clubs.

Am I glad you said he had K7 of spades before I made an idiot of myself and posted that he had AQ of clubs!

Wow, I nearly came across as a complete nutter!
13  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: Should I pass? on: June 26, 2006, 09:11:23 PM

No

But it would be more profitable if I did.

I make many plays in a $10 multi that are not long term profitable because I'm looking to get rich or go home.
I bluff too much, I race too much and in situations like above I play KK Smiley

You see there are other factors to consider... if you earn say $30 an hour when you play, is it worthwhile playing a $10 multi for 3 hours and picking up $200?

The answer is no, it is not as simple as $200 divided by 3 hours because the wins have to pay for the times you don't money.
This is why I bluff too much and gamble too much and race too much in $10 multis because there is nothing worse than hitting the money but it still not being worthwhile.

I'd have passed 2 pair preflop.

badpab is the only 'nay sayer' who has given a good alternative to my fold.
