Yes it was Ramzi he was berrating. And I though Ramzi handled it really well - for about 4 hours - then Phil finally got to him and the poor gtuy bluffed off all his chips. The irony is that the berrating was mostly about what he saw as Ramzi's bad table etiquette which was rich given the dealer abuse he gave out when I took most of his stack!

I may have missed it but i didn't see Christine Ward mentioned in the thread. Christine came 5th in the Newcastle GUKPT last weekend. I have never seen her before so she may be well known but not by me. I played with her in a single table shootout the night before the main event and in my opinion she was a class act. Great table presence, focused, fearless and aggressive at the right time. I think she could well have won the main event if she had run a little better. Never played with Jen but her results speak for themselves and of course I have always admired Lucy's game.
What about a blonde battle of the sexes tournament to put all these theories to the test?

Hey Red-Dog:
You should be writing instead of playing poker. That's not a slight on your poker, but rather a recognition of some fine writing talent.
I really enjoyed this.
Good luck today if your playing and see you at the final table on Sunday.
PS - Anyone staying at the Jury's Inn - avoid the fish and chips. Mine was like a carbonised beer mat.

Hi Kev:
I'm going into London tonight to buy in for either Thursday or Friday if they still have seats. I'll try to get a room at the Holiday Inn.
If all that pans out and I manage to work out the trains I'll buy you a bud light sometime later this week.
Best Wishes,

I played with Jon up in Blackpool at one of their festivals last year and he was one of the nicest guys at the table. A real gent and great fun too.
He would be a fantastic ambassador for the whole of poker.
Take it down Jon......just getting there is awsome......

A 'round'. Nope. I looked that one up in my Scottish Dictionary and all it says is....'noun., something that gets ordered while you are in the bog or outside having a fag.' Never heard of it.

Thanks guys. I had more than my share of luck in Brighton. Apart that is from missing the first 40 minutes of the second day due to traffic and walking in just as my cards got swept up in the big blind. I also lost a 100k pot to Kenny Wong when his jacks cracked my aces but apart from that I was a complete luckbox.
Good to see a few Blondites down there.
Great forum here. Thanks for the welcome,

Yep - ur right it was 4000/8000. As to the relevance - you're also right. I didn't hear a suggestion to chop the whole comp though - but thenI was listening to Eminem on full volume at the time so that's no surprise. I only took my earphones out when I realised Peter was talking to the table about some offer. If I had known that was the suggestion I'd have declined too - and I was the shortest stack at the table.

My twopenceworth in here on Peter's decision...
1) Peter explained politely that he was under an obligation to not do a deal at that point beacuse of his sponsored status. 2) The blinds were still 400/800 and Peter had around 140k chips (hard to be exact as the dealer was a big guy in between Peter and I)
Based on 1) I don't see how you can say Peter made ANY financial decision never mind a poor one. Also, the little I know of Peter suggests to me that he's not that likely to make poor deal decisions even when he's not representing someone's brand.
Based on 2) Peter had plenty of play left. He got unlucky in a couple of spots and went out - big deal. I can almost guarantee he'd do nothing differently given the same circumstances again. I know I don't have to explain the sizeable edge you give up to the smaller stacks once a deal is done to anyone here.
Finally, the money is important - especially after two days play and expenses but it's not the only or even the most important thing to a lot of players.
Integrity, repect and believing you have played your best are right up there and Peter gets my vote on all three.

Hey Suzanne:
A brave post. I really feel for you. I too have looked into the abyss. Not for quite a while now but I remember it well like it was only yesterday. A few words of encouragement.... Asking for help - especially publicly - even amongst forum friends - is a great sign of your willingness to do something to get out what sounds like a losing vortex. You do need to do something, probably several things very differently if you want to break out of that. I would like to try to help if I can. Look me up at the Western on Tuesday if you fancy a chat. No problem if you don't.
For what it's worth....I had a life changing piece of advice about 18 months ago from someone who knows a thing or two about winning poker. I didn't get it at the time. I found it quite annoying actually (mainly because I just wanted to get on with the next hand) but for some reason I decided to follow it. He suggested I stop playing poker for at least a week and think about one question and work out the correct answer for me. He said why do you want to play poker? He said you'll answer this and get it wrong several times before you work out the right answer. He was right. I never looked back. The reason I never looked back was once I knew why I wanted to play, the things I needed to do to enjoy myself (note: NOT the same as the things I needed to do to get better at poker - although they were natural consequence) became obvious.
I appreciate this might sound like a lot of 'know thyself' type crap. I thought that too.
Happy to talk anytime.

Kenny Wong went out 5th when his ran into Steve's . Steve from Teeseside tells me he regularly FT's the Stars $100 rebuy so he knows which way is up. We splashed around a bit until my AK got mullered by Steve's set of eights. Four hadned we decided to call it a day and chopped it up with slightly more going to the chip leader and second in chips. I took £10k which should go at least some way to covering my bar bill at the Seattle. Best Wishes, The Thistle
