"where's caroline" is nowhere near as good as " where's Girgy"!

I can never tell - which one is Ant ?

Just had a big pot on Table 5, where Captain Kirk is definitely not living up to his name. Captain Watts has just relieved James Reid of nearly 13K with a full house holding A8, James chose to muck rather than show.

Steve watts now up to 87K.

Tom FML Myland has been eliminated - quads over quads!!

Paul Parker could have got away from that

The Brighton Massive, Flushy's Golf Partner. They are both bandits, be sure of that.

Wow you must have got there early!

I decided to take the pic during the first Orbit of Level One. It's best to be safe, knowing Tony.

You two be careful, the goat has a temper. Ever watched Uncle Buck ?

"Nailing"?

What exactly does that mean, please?

fornicating

What?

Well I refuse to believe that nice Le-Knave would do such a thing. He seems such a nice boy.

I just hope whoever it is can afford the bill!

LOL was just about to say the same. A guy who is well known to us all on here told me he paid $1k for the privilege.....

Was that a Rebuy ?

Big Shame that unibet are not running as many satellites as they have advertised at....

http://www.unibetopen.com/UO_satellite.html

....tried to play yesterday, and was hoping to do so today, but they have got few running it seems, and on longer cycle.

Dont really understand why, but perhaps catch 22 - (a) dont have runners for satellites so dont run them and (b) advertise the satellites and "impress" the players who want to play them by not running them.....

I love Flushy even though he keeps taking money off me. I was temporarily chuffed when he got into Blonde and offered me a shirt which I snap called thinking this was a sponsorship deal - until I turned it over and it had "Chauffeur" on the back !

If I am not jealous enough of people who declare plans for three/four visits to vegas this year, it kind of adds insult to injury to be conned into being an unpaid taxi driver for airport trips - oh yes, and the word  "heathrow" makes it out late in the contract...

So guys, its all got too much - all this hoorah over flushy and blonde - sorry to burst the bubble but the guys not done an honest days work in his life, most of which he seems to spend in bed, and when he is awake its pure exploitation of the weak and powerless - be warned !

Its all going to end up with us all pennyless and him off living in Vegas with a huge pension.

For those of you that dont know me i have been under flushys wing for about a year now and only lately have i actually started to become a winning player. Flushy has trusted me with the task of running the stable which i actually quite enjoy because there all such a laugh, so basically i send them all money [  ] which is very hard. Since the other guys have joined the stable we have all been chatting on skype about hands etc etc and i am starting to see massive improvments in my game. I have ran up huge mu's in the past online and managed to bink out of them with decent live 2nd's (i nvere ever win hu...im shit)! A quick brag, the hendon mob is missing my biggest ever score for 17.k in the birmingham 2nd chance 500fo which i obv came 2nd in only to see about 2k of the money myself as i was in redic makeup! This is basically the story of my poker career, build up huge makeups then scoop to get out of it but only see minimal profit. My mission before vegas is to actually build up a nice roll and not gain a 15k+ mu which im perfectly poised for as i am in 0 mu at the moment after a decent result the other night...

with the help of the stable + the likes of jones, middy, tommyc and a few others its definetly possible.....

The gf's just arrived with sushi so i best be off

so gl to the stable and lets gogogogogogoggo

Blatant "I have a girlfriend, I am not flushys rent boy" brag post imo.

Funny story, i only got round to staking Nick because of Tony Adderly wanting to stake his missus!!!

....And which one of the two cashed in the said tournament !?!?!?!

Tournament Preparation

As you know I have always admired your play and tactics, and I wanted to ask your advice about tournament preparation...

I have noticed that often before a main event you prepare yourself by entering the preceding days game and drinking copious quantities of alcoholic beverages with your gang and, after being inevitably knocked out, proceed to splatter money on cash games whilst topping up with increasing expensive tipples. You then turn up for the next days game, in what I can only describe as "a bit of a state", often late and blaming everyone for the previous night.

Given your great success at poker, I decided I had to follow your example - so at the recent rendezvous festival I entered into a round one night with ( names omitted to protect the guilty ) PP and L? during a midweek tournament. Having been knocked out I was "invited" to the cash table where I made appropriate contributions to Mr Barnes and Mr Grech. Somehow I got home, not sure how, but with an empty wallet.

I barely made it to the £300 f/o the next day, and having made a grovelling apology to the Pit Boss (whose bottom I had apparently commented on during the previous evening) and received an alcohol ban for the night and notice of casino ban on repeat offence, I sat down and suffered badly for endless hours sipping water to stay alive.

It was a surreal experience but the truth is your system worked and I made the next day of the tournament, which I seldom do nowadays.

I'd therefore like to know which are the essential elements of your preparation plan ?

(1) At my age the alcoholic intake is a bit of a risk so is there a way I can limit that and still achieve success ?
(2) Is it important to be loud and annoy people one day, in order to get their chips the next ?
(3) Are there reasons why being hungover increases poker performance ?
(4) Does the threat of a ban focus you on the game ?

 Please advise.

Flushy - dont know why you find that so odd - I've seen "someone" turn into a donkey right in front of my eyes...

Woulda been a better prospect if you'd left out the '(As I have!)' bit.

ok - fair point
11  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: To be or not to be: Rulings on: January 23, 2009, 05:56:04 PM

Personally, I think this is going to hurt Guinness sales badly - there is a recession on and I feel for the casinos losing an important revenue stream... on the plus side I guess I will lose some weight and get told to shut up less. God it will be so boring.

A bit like guinness, and a little more seriously :
(1) rules have to be black and white
(2) if a rule cannot be black and white, dont try to have the rule

P.S. I like Steve, like Juicy, like what GUKPT has been built up into by Bluesq guys involved....hope all can move on...
12  Poker Forums / The Rail / Premium Hotel Rooms Brighton £79 inc breakfast Mon to Thurs next week on: January 23, 2009, 02:33:13 PM

If you are coming down to Brighton next week for the Rendezvous Tournaments and want to live it up a bit... I have negotiated a Poker Rate of from £79 inc breakfast at the classy Drakes Hotel - dead posh. On sea front between Pier and Marina. Rooms are normally £120+ minimum and if you are really lucky lucky lucky you could sleep in the same bed as Kylie has ( I have ! ) .

Have a butchers at www.drakeshotel.com and ring 01273 696934 to book - hurry as small 20 room place - ask for Richard or quote "Tony's Poker Rate" Mon-Thurs subject to availability of course.

And if you do stay there make sure you behave or else !!
13  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: How Stupid is this guy? on: September 29, 2008, 12:26:07 PM
Saw it happen - guilty as charged and somewhat surreal.

The guy is clearly intelligent and a lot of people regard(ed?) him as a nice chap, but he completely lost it when his very questionable tactics did not work for him.

Whatever the letter of rules ( his point ), the spirit of the rules are far more important and hats off to the TD who suffered abuse but dealt with it very well.

14  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: What would be your ruling.... on: July 31, 2008, 12:16:13 PM
Well, I did not ask for a ruling and if I had I would have expected my All In to stand. Regrettably the dealer was very inexperienced ( although a very nice lady ) and we had spent the night "helping" with the pots and various procedural matters. Yes, it is a rule that "players are responsible for knowing what is going on" but an experienced dealer makes so much difference and it isnt always as we would all like - and I suppose wont be whilst the attitude tends toward the "thats how it is". Notably all the staff in the cardroom ( and in the casino generally ) where amongst the most helpful and friendly I have experienced.

But back to the hand in question and two issues not yet addressed by the wise posters :

(1) Exposing the QQ before the SB and BB have acted. I saw something very similar happen at The Vic once - the hand stood, but the guy was taken off the table for a period after the hand... I was pleasantly suprised to see some action taken as POTENTIAL advantage had been gained and therefore there should be a downside.

(2) "Hands should always be in clear view". So often we are huddled around small tables and inevitably hands and arms are often obscuring the view - such is the environment of so may venues. However the tables at the G Casino Thanet are decent large tables that took 10 comfortably, and therefore the "congestion" excuse is less applicable.  So - do we all accept that this is another "rule" that doesnt actually matter ?

I am over the hand and, like all you vastly experienced chaps, it'll now be in my lessons learnt box. Not sure that I'll ever get used to the fact that some rules are rules and other rules are (potentially) tactical opportunities.

15  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / What would be your ruling.... on: July 27, 2008, 06:19:57 PM
Played last night (26th July) at the G Casino THANET ( RAMSGATE to the rest of us ) in a £250 Freezeout, for which the first prize was a car.

Three tables left and the in full swing ( Why do they do that on "MAIN EVENT" nights ? ) and the hand happened....

I am on the button, and the small blind is a tight player and the BB mega tight - I had seen her play three hands in about 2 hours ( QQ, QQ and AQ ), and I am getting low on chips. The dealer is collecting cards as players pass and I check my cards and find AJ. The player before me passes, there are only the blinds in the middle,  so I look again and announce all in.

Immediately, the player two to my RIGHT turns over his cards emphatically, showing QQ !

I say "whats going on" ?
" I said all in before you " he says. ( Not that I heard !)
But, I say, where are your chips ? ( As there was nothing but the Blinds over the action line )

The Blinds have yet to act...

If I asked you for a ruling, what would it be ?

P.S. He may have said all in, but I did not hear it above the and I am certain the dealer said nothing during the course of this. The other factor is that the player was the "sitting forward with hands on table" type - I could not see that he had cards, but in the abscence of any chips over the action line...
