1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: 13 way chop at GCBPT on: February 28, 2008, 03:50:49 PM
I played the £100 event last night in Edinburgh and my whole objective was to try and win enough for the £500 main event at the weekend.

We get to the cash places with 13th taking £190 and winner £4800.

The question now goes round the final 2 tables, why don't we take £1000 each, I ask who gets the £500 main event seat and the reply is whoever is the chipleader........OMG it's me!!

I have 150k, nearest is 130k and most are sitting between 50-80k, shortest stack is around 30k.

I took this deal, however was lambasted (as were the other 12) by others who did not make the final 13 for doing such a deal.

Now, I entered this event solely with the objective of winning enough to enter the main event, £500 is way outside my bankroll. I now have the chance to pick up £1k and take my seat at the main event.......was I wrong?

I don't think I was, the stacks were such that I was never guaranteed to even ladder to £500, i have someone telling me I can have the seat to the main event and £1k.............sorry, in the interests of bankroll management, I'm taking this thank you very much.

P.S.

You can consider this a partial brag post.

Geo.
If your happy with the deal then who cares what anybody else think. You got a £500 seat to the main event and cash in your pocket, a good nights work if you ask me. Lets hope you cash at the main event too !

MERRY CHRISTMAS BANDIT

I found this in the Daily Record today mate, thought you might want to read it

INVERNESS CT 3

CELTIC 2

CELTIC'S SPL title defence suffered a massive setback in Inverness when they contrived to blow a two-goal lead on the way to their first league defeat by the Highlanders.

Celtic defended like an amateur side, lacked fight in midfield when it was really needed and someone other than Aiden McGeady must provide a creative spark when things are not going well.

That's 14 months without a clean sheet away from home. The manager will, of course, point out that his team were double champions last time out. But the big question is whether they will get away with it again if the back four is not sorted out.

While the visiting fans will complain about the decisions that didn't go their way, those with a clearer mind will know it should not hide the problems which exist in a team that has shipped seven points in four games. Rangers are only two behind with two games in hand.

Caley Thistle's starting XI have a settled look about them at the moment. After three wins on the bounce with no goals conceded, it was no wonder Craig Brewster went with the same side who beat Hibs last time out so Marius Niculae continued as a lone striker in a 4-5-1 formation.

Maybe Celtic should play 4-5-1 away from home, what do you think Bandit ? Wink

Everybody is talking about this ! You should have waited and done the story in the News of the World. You would have got your money back and a profit ! And still told your story.  ......    maybe it's not too late (he he)......  Shame Paul Carnegie was treated like that, you made a good appointment taking him there too.But having a dealer working 10 hrs is a joke, how many bad beats could a person listen to in 10hrs ?  I think i'll be putting a dealer on Roberts table alot more now when he comes in to play !

" £10 + £3 satellite "  can you charge £3 registration fee ? I thought you could only charge 10% registration fee if it's being held in a casino .
