Hmm shears .... I've heard rumours that there could be further cuts to come from these, so they are a dodgy proposition at best.

My advice is to invest in stairs .... It may be a long haul to the top, but if you tread carefully then there shouldn't be any tumbling down to worry about. Beware of spiralling stair cases, however.

Unfortunately I never got to meet the man himself, but as a Blonde member it would've been impossible not to notice how much respect and admiration he commanded both on this forum and in person.

I only played the Bournemouth GBPT, coz that Gala is my local. I played in the £100, the £200 and the £500 main event.

I made the last 3 tables in each comp, but in all 3, unfortunately, it became a crapshoot at that stage and I lost my races. It was the only festival where I played more than one event where I failed to cash last year and the poor blind structure had a big effect, resulting in there being no room to play any real poker past the halfway stage.

The structure needs to be drastically altered to compete with the GUKPT in terms of blind levels to create more play in the game in the latter stages, but the buy-in at £500 for the main event is fine.

You're right , of course, that the only reason any of us go to Brighton is to see Paul and Flushy......any prize money gained is quite immaterial.

There's far too many deep stack structures imo. I'd much rather play a quicker structured game than sit around for 3 days then bubble. The dtd £500 looks like a good compromise, and if I didn't live so far away and wasn't so perpetually busy, it's one I'd definitely play. Hope to make it up in the next few months. Keep up the good work
