i dont usually comment, but feel i have to here, only read page 1 of the replies, but this is UNBELIEVABLY bad from op. its shows a complete and utter lack of knowledge of tourney poker.
u are being offered 6/1 on the call,,,,,,,,and have only 4 bbs if u fold here. u have made a standard bet from the button to take the pot, first villian can easily think a mid pp is good. second, villain can easily have a draw. (fd is out there) thirdly, u usually have 5 outs here when behind, this gives u a 4/1 chance to win the hand, u are being offered 6/1, if villian SHOWS u AA here, its an insta call. EVEN if u are dominated, and have 3 outs, u are just over 7/1 to win the pot........again given the relative chips positions vis a vis winning the tourney, if u are SHOWN AJ, its still prolly a marginal call.
Lastly, limping along here with JT is this position, given the relative stack sizes and utg limp is absolutely shocking poker.

he could easily have a mid range pp, like 55 or 77 and i too would consider someone calling here with KQ a bit of a fish. (although if he was constantly button stealing in the game, then a flat call and raise on the turn might do the trick). But i dont like the call, hoping to hit an over card type of play. I too would often bet out at boards like these, cause often, first bet takes it down. Dont get totalises answer at all.

I had a similar hand last night, $2/4 cash game, dealt JJ, i raised it to 12 in mp, called by the button and the bb, flop comes 10, 7, 4, looked good, i bet the pot of about 40, called by button, turn was Q, i bet 40 again, he raised all in for about 300, i had about 200 left. I was thinking he would reraise pre flop with QQ, KK, AA, i originally put him on A10, but also thought he might re raise the flop with this to see where he was, anyway, as i thought about the call , i typed, i have JJ, he replied, i will show, (in hindsight i thought he was concerned to hear i had JJ, i had bluffed him once earlier also). Anyway, i figured he either hit a set or was slow playing some type of big pair , its usually a good sign of strength to flat call the flop and raise the turn, i folded and he showed A10, grrrrrrr.

i dont like checking the flop and the river, if no one has a high spade or open str8 draw, or indeed trips u are not getting paid one way or the other, if they do, they call your bets on flop and turn, it disguises your hand, and many people bet out here to protect top pair, or top 2, or indeed with the bare A. Also, if someone does have the A or K spades, they will call u on the flop and the turn, but if u wait til the river and no more spades come, u dont get paid.
