Just back from the West Ham/Spurs match and have enjoyed seeing Fred on fine form, been an enjoyable read.  Jääskeläinen easily the man of the match and was unreal in that second half.  I really don't understand the dislike for Parker, personally for me he's still one of the first names on the team sheet, when you see him live you see how much of the donkey work he does, needs to practice shooting still though.  Spurs really didn't play that well tonight, very disjointed and miss a creative pressnece a la Modric really badly.  They also have a real strikers problem.  I would urge caution backing them in the coming game as I don't think you'll see too much value.  In fact, and this hurts me, there might be some real value on the red side of the bet.

Thanks Tommy, it has been a fun evening here.

When Forums were invented, this is exactly what they had in mind.

Couldn't agree more.

Saw some fun scenes at Upton Park.  Chris Hughton giving the media room scramble for sandwiches a wide berth (obvious Delia treats them better), a West Ham fan offering the entire Spurs section outside from 100 yards and a football pitch away after the Cole goal, same West Ham fan kicking a metal railing after Bale's second and being carried away with a broken foot by the stewards.

Love football, so eventful.

Ugh, missed it, too late now though.

Thanks.

If anyone still wants on, BetFair are 18 (17/1).

At risk of the old fella calling me a fanboy I like Spurs at 8/1 for this.

Proved with their team selections they are up for this and the way they are currently playing are probably the second best team in England.

Inter way down the Serie A table shouldn't prove much of a hurdle.

I haven't seen any replays yet so this was just reaction from watching the game live.  With Jussi, he pulled off what looked like half a dozen top drawer saves in the second half.  Didn't look like he was at fault for any of the goals, if any it was the first but I thought the main problem for that one was giving Bale a five yard berth on the edge of the box.

And no I don't think Spurs played that well.  West Ham were the better side in the first period despite getting the goal through what looked like a soft pen (again no replays, from first viewing it looked like a Webb special).  They miss a Modric or VDV, a lot of the play is get to the half way line, pass it along the back for a minute then lump it/lose it.  Bale's incredible form is really papering over a lot of cracks at the moment.

Welcome to Fred, Sir or Madam.

Pretty good shout that, I'd say, The bet I mean. I don't really do arbs.

When do they decide - end of the Season?

PS - Are you Delia? You are actually our SECOND Norwich fan.

Bale is a bet at 13/8 I think. Rvp and Suarez to beat...but the betfair price feels more right

Fanboy.

PS - We have just had £20 on Lazio. With that in mind, is it still worth a few bob on 5pur2, too? If so, how much?

Gotta get to bed now, will sort it out on the morrow if we want a bet. You are in my good books tonight, after that bink. I may even think of you as I lay in bed. If Tal can dream dreams of Bale, why not?

Yes, just going to say that, they are not currently showing a Market.

Oddschecker only list BetVictor & Betfair.

BetVictor go 8/13, BetFair 1/2.

At 13/8, it was a fantastic spot, well done. Not sure I fancy 8/13 quite so much though. Unless he has an injury - perfectly ppssible - he should be a cert.

Do we have any action on the Papal betting yet?

I think we're looking at a very open field here and I'm opposing the betting front runners.
There has been a lot of talk about the church maybe going with an African, Asian or South American Pope to try and stay current and I think there is some mileage in this thought.

Points to bear in mind;

1. Pope Benedict appointed about 40% of the current crop of Cardinals and they are predominantly conservative, traditionalists like himself.
2. Historically, Italians have dominated the papacy and about 20% of the Cardinals are currently Italian.
3. Nearly 50% of the Catholic population is located in central and South America.

So we have a church that may want to break somewhat with tradition and appoint an outsider. But they also want to be quite conservative. And they have an Italian predisposition. And their power base is South America.

Hello Cardinal Leonardo Sandri!!!!!!

69 year old Argentinian cardinal born of Italian parents. (Good age profile, South American, Italian flavour. Nice!!!!)
He was also formerly Subsitute for General Affairs (basically 3rd in command of the Catholic faith) thus giving him a position to build up his power base and is well known to traditionalists.

He is fairly well respected in the betting market, ranging from 15/2 - 14/1 with most of the major books, which doesn't appeal too much.

But God be praised for those US heathens Pinnacle. For verily they lay our holy man @ 119/5.
Let us smite them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
