Jen Mason adds another 35k to her stack.  A chap made it 3,800 to play, Jen 3bets to 8,500, matey makes it 20k leaving only about 8k behind.

Jen does tank a little bit but eventually says CALL rather than all-in to put the guy all in.  They agree to get it all in pre-though and matey is gutted to see Jen's JACKS seeing as he has TENS.  No drama's as the board runs out.

I'll take a guess but I think the name of this "matey" is Rob Jarrett-Smith.

I suppose that's payback for what Thierry Henry did.

Press release

Former professional footballer Tony Cascarino has won the Grand Final of the 2009 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour. The ex Republic of Ireland international scored a £168,800 payday by outclassing a field of 183 players in the Blue Square Poker sponsored GUKPT’s showpiece event at the Grosvenor Victoria casino in London. The tournament included some of the best poker players from the UK and Europe, who all paid £3,000 to enter the four day tournament. This was the second time that Cascarino has tasted victory on the UK’s largest poker tour. His first victory came just over a year ago when he won the Bolton leg of the 2008 tour. It was his third GUKPT main event final table, having also finished in 6th place in last year’s Grand Final. His win takes him to the top of the all-time GUKPT money list, with almost £250,000 in winnings.

During post-match analysis Cascarino commented on his win.

“I’ve been moaning all year, ‘cos nothing good has really happened to me. I’ve won something (in poker) every year for the last four years, but until now 2009 has been frustrating.”

Making reference to the break down of his marriage he went on to say

“I got divorced earlier in the year and I’m delighted that she won’t be getting her hands on any of this. She’s already had enough out of me.”

On a more upbeat note he then philosophised on his poker playing abilities

“Getting respect from your peers and being acknowledged for being good at whatever you do with your life means a lot to me…I think I have proved myself now.”

Max Payne

Vanessa Rousso and Max Pescatori just played out a pot in the region of the 300k mark...

The pre and flop action wasn't seen but Vanessa got her not inconsiderable stack in on an Ace turn, and Max gave her action, holding A-J...

Rousso had the Italian trussed up and bound like a turkey at christmas though, holding A-K and she looked likely to move into close to the chip lead.

That is until a cruel Jack spiked on the river to shatter her ambitions of challenging for the title. Meanwhile the fortunate bearded Italian moves into a dominant position in the tournament...

It's a bad time for the girls with Vicky Coren also busting soon after...

Vicky raised to 17k preflop, only to face the busy Frenchman Antony Lellouche re-raising another 40k from the small blind.

Vicky called the big re-raise quickly and the two went heads up to an 8 high flop...

Lellouche led out for 55k and Vicky now shoved the rest of her stack in, another 30k on top or so.

Lellouche had an easy call, and as Vicky showed down pocket Tens, Lellouche flipped up pocket Kings and suddenly Coren was in big trouble...

The turn K ended any faint hopes of an outdraw and Lellouche is now MASSIVE as we unfortunately lose the former EPT winner.

I think Vicky finished around the same position at WSOPE.  The difference here is that she ended up with nothing at WSOPE, whereas here she finishes with over 11,000 pounds.

I am delighted to inform you all that the pie chart bandwagon is being well and truly leapt upon.  I was going to wait for a lull in the action to present you with these, but I just can't keep them from you:  I present - the pie chart representations of stats from the Pokerstars welcome suite...

I know that they are using the brown and pink coloured chips, but what colour are the 25000 chips (if they are using them)?

Ok, quiz question time.

What do you get if you cross a beautiful and glamorous EPT presenter ....

(Llevan you are forbidden from answering that question)

Stumped?

Incidentally, they are now having a Time Out, which means what you think it means... a deal might well be afoot.

A deal is a deal.

This is a foot.

And now for something completely different...

MONSTROUS, RIDICULOUS HAND ALERT!

Biggest Pot Of The Day Action!

I wander over to Table Chili because as far as I can see she has raised preflop to 4k, with at least one caller behind her in James Morgan, and I see that Frank Doyle has gone all in for considerably more. I should note at this point that Jonathan Huckle is also in the hand - his back was to me and I couldn't see his chips, apologies apologies - I just sort of assumed he'd flat-called the 4k until Snoops and Junglecat put doubt in my mind and made me think he might have re-raised - reasons for this to become obvious soon.

Chili dwells. For ages. So when she finally calls (she and Doyle are roughly even in chips), James Morgan and Jonathan Huckle don't have to bother pretending to think about it. Four-way all in!

Frank Doyle -
Maria Demetriou -
James Morgan -
Jonathan Huckle -

Board - oh, this is exciting, "Aces can't win!" someone is shouting - (OOOH!) - wait wait for it -

And I swear the look of joy on her face is that same look that newly-crowned Misses World have - it's a look of pure happiness that says that fate has finally smiled upon her. She had 35k at the start of the hand and covered all three unfortunate all-inners; three very angry gentleman headed for the rail while she raked in a veritable mountain of chips. She is a very lucky girl, and we reckon she's our new chip leader with probably around 100k.

For those who have never experienced it firsthand, this is what true happiness looks like:
