Terrible call IMO. You could easily have AK/AQ here but he obviously thought he was racing. I could maybe understand it a little if he was BB and it had folded round but in his situation it's a fold everytime for me.
2  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: How's this played? on: March 07, 2008, 02:15:54 AM
His insta min raise would suggest AK/AQ to me here so I'd reraise him on the flop hoping for a shove. If he only called then I'd look to get it all in on the turn. Build the pot with your huge hand after he's shown strength

I might have put him on spades after the flop but that turn bet doesn't tell me he has spades!

nasty river, ul!

I took that as a stopper bet though and seen him to be drawing

Posted this in Sunday funday thread last night but no replys so thought I'd put it here;

Anyway...early stages of last nights Sunday Million and this happens.

I personally thought I played it standard but I showed a mate it and he felt my play was wrong so just wondering what you guys thought. I may as well show his hand as will be obvious what he had in the fact I'm asking if I played it wrong. Obviously the turn is the important part

They've always been a joke. It's rare for them to get a decision correct.

I'm heading through to Motherwell tomorrow to pay my respects and lay down one of my old Motherwell strips, I wouldn't feel right if I didn't.

To say I'm gutted is an understatement. I'm a Motherwell season ticket holder and was at the match today. Phil O'Donnell was a true legend and a great family man, he leaves behind a wife and 4 kids. When he collapsed it was obvious he hadn't just fainted or whatever and the silence in the stadium was insane. If you had closed your eyes you'd have thought you were the only person for miles it was so silent.

Don't really know what else to say, still in shock.

RIP UNCLE PHIL, you will be greatly missed but always remembered

ul mate although this thread has amused me

easy peasy fold
9  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: What do you do here? on: December 27, 2007, 02:54:58 AM
Think it's an easy call. The guy who pushed may have pushed with a weaker hand than he normally would due to the raiser being active and the fact he has been folding to large reraises.

Yeah I would only play FL. I'd imagine PL/NL would be a nightmare at low levels. I'll just continue to play 2-7 triple draw SNG's for just now and see how I pick it up. If I cash in ~50% of them (which shouldn't be too difficult at <$10) then I may consider cash games. There's a past WSOP 2-7 event on pokertube just now if you haven't seen it.

Haha nah 2/4 is way way way over my budget just now! I'm a poor student. I only play up to $0.25/0.50 cash games I'm afraid and that's NL Hold em. I was just playing $1 (....ok stop laughing now  Cheesy ) triple draw SNG's as I'd never played before (hence my post). I've won two of the three so far! At that level though everyone calls everything! Due to my winning streak I might consider a $5 one

Smilies are fun.

Cheers for the replies man.......I may see you at a 2/4 triple draw table soon!

I only very very recently got into 2-7 lowball (played under 100 hands!). Anyway whats the abc of triple draw lowball when it comes to the third draw and you hold say queen high (or is it low  ) against one other player who draws one at third draw. Stand pat or draw one? As I say I'm a total novice so please forgive me!

1st post for me also

I personally think you are ahead at this point and would put him on a busted flush draw. It is always hard to tell when you haven't seen enough of the player (which is why I personally watch a few orbits before joining a cash table). Reason I wouldn't put him on a King is due to him only flat calling the bet on the turn. He would have raised here with a king considering the draws out there so I think he himself is on a draw or has an unlikely full house already made. I'd probably bet small on river (about $1.50) making him priced in to call with a 5/6/7 or raising all in with a busted draw. If he has a straight then there isn't much you can do.
