I had pocket 10's.

Horrible river with majority of chips in already!

Cheers Jez.

I really cant justify the other players call on the turn.

Esp when he/her turned over Q8...and I called the river cause it was 1500 left and i was willing to pay $3 to see the hand. lol

Huh?

I had no reads on this player as im not watching the table close - multi-tabling

Can someone tell me how to play this hand correctly. I was confused on what to do and suprised by the fishy all-in on the river.
4  Poker Forums / Poker Hand Analysis / Re: What would you do? on: August 19, 2008, 12:20:56 AM

Thanks for all your advice. I did fold the hand in the end.

On a side note when the right time to move up levels?
I have a BR of $70 and play $3 level. At the $3 level I get a good ROI. But my $6 ROI is in the minus. I haven't dared to go any higher.
What kind of bank roll do you guys think i should be aiming for to move up and to what level. I play FT btw $2 & $3.

Thanks for your comment.

Folding is a very viable option. Especially around the bubble.
Think for one minute if you weren't around the bubble. SB has put a weak raise in and BB a player with no poker knowledge pushes. This push could be a steal of the small bet? When it happened A7 looked very fitting as the BB's hand, any ace to an amateur is a good hand hit or not. If i had position on SB and saw a fold it probably would have gone in with no hesitation.

was at a live game so i can't remember much.
but i'll try and fill you in.

6/7 players left - NL Hold'em - Amateurs playing

Button - Me 25k
SB - Knows how to play - Loose-Aggressive - 45k
BB - Has no clue, fishy fishy - 20k

Blinds - 1000/2000

I raise to 6000
SB Calls
BB Calls

FLOP

POT = 18000

SB bet 6k (was a small bet)
BB - shove

Pot = 44000

Action on me....[8, 8]

Lost is on of the best shows I've ever seen.

Like every other fan I'm fked off by all the writers strikes and gap between episodes!
Can't we just see the whole damn series.

I was playing in a tournament day before yesterday, holdem NL. I had about 25k at the time and 7 people were left, 6 payed.

I was sitting with pocket 8's. I seem to remember being dealer and pumping it up pre flop 3x BB to which i had two callers.

Flop came

SB raises and BB re-raises all in (i wouldnt be knocked out but severely battered if i lost.
Both players didn't really know what they were doing and both amateur players. So I put them on a range of hands.

What to do?

plus my AK always loses out to A rag, my QQ always sees a flop full of As and , and my flopped straight always gets called by someone with 2 pair who makes a FH

That's just the rant of a losing player (not neccessarily saying your a losing player) but your AK doesn't always lose out to Arag and your Q's don't always see a flop of overcards. Poker is about accepting that sometimes the better hand loses and you have to deal with it. It can be a c*nt but the 'deal with it' part is always the hardest part to cope with in most players and thats the main reason of me starting this topic...to try and deal with it.

Thanks for the advice snoopy. Smiley

I play mostly MTT. Sometimes when i play I get a really good start to things and find myself in the top 10% of players. Whenever I lose quite a large portion of my stack e.g. 6000 ----> 3000 in one hand I tend to play more reckless and take more chances. Even though, after I have the chunk taken out of my stack and I'm still at average chips, I tend to go on a 'minor' tilt and start playing hands for the sake of it to try and recoup.

Do any of you more expereinced players find that when you lose a large % of your stack you go a little crazy and take more chances and if so how do you deal with losing a big hand. Because I'm finding that a little difficult...Sad

If its your first hand why are you not on the big blind?

First hand I played and saw a flop, wasn't first first hand.

It's $0.05/0.10 on tilt. I sat with the full amount.

I didn't know what to put the other guy on as I had no read, top set or draw?
