1  Poker Forums / The Rail / Re: DUSK TILL DAWN - HAVE YOUR SAY AT THE COURT HEARING.............. on: August 09, 2007, 01:22:16 PM
My husband and I would like to play at Dusk Till Dawn because...

Dusk Till Dawn is a quantum leap forward in the development of dedicated poker clubs in the UK and in our opinion it does not only represent the RIGHT AND PROPER way forward for poker clubs, taking them beyond the grey "private members clubs", but it also gives the whole of the UK a true flagship venue, one with the facilities and expertise (which CANNOT be underestimated) to become a landmark in European poker to rival and indeed exceed the top European venues.

This venture has not just been cobbled together - at every turn Dusk Till Dawn have looked to PROTECT THE RIGHTS and EXCEED THE EXPECTATIONS of their customers and staff. This has been clearly seen in the open way that the club has been developed and in the way that EVERY licence and permission has been sought and given.

We strongly feel that Dusk Till Dawn should be very much a part of the future of PROPERLY REGULATED AND SAFE poker in this country, dedicated to JUST POKER and not relying on OR EXPOSING ITS MEMBERS to casino games. The fact that they have been granted a casino licence in order to be properly regulated is merely a coincidence of labelling as there is no equivalent regulation under a poker licence as yet in this country. The opposition to their opening from other casino chains is misguided, they are NOT A CASINO but a poker club who are going to move the poker industry forward to an entirely new and much sought after level.

THIS CLUB IS THE FUTURE OF LIVE POKER IN THIS COUNTRY - IT MUST NOT BE HELD BACK BY CORPORATE MISDIRECTION.

We would like to post a quick thank you to William Hill for a wonderful three years as two of their sponsored players. This was our last event under their banner - it will not be the same without one of their trademark shirts on the next time we play.

We would like to specially thank Dan Taylor, who started the ball rolling all those years ago, and Phil Quayle, who's presence in the poker team was inspirational and is almost impossible to replace.

Finally, the best of luck to Julian for the coming year.

Smokin Steve and Badgirl Pham.

Thanks for all the support and good wishes - its surprising how much it still means (sniff...!)

Best of luck to all the Brits (and Irish!) still in the last 32, with a special mention for Steve Jelinek (what a fantastic payday this could be - go Steve) and Ram...baby needs new shoes!

Badgirl just did the Rookie proud...

Having lost a race for half her stack with QQ vs AK, she limped on the button after four previous limpers with   and saw a juicy   Two Clubs flop. Checked all round, she bet 10k, only to be raised a further 15k all-in from the big blind...calling with a "I'm not passing this" the raiser turned over   for top pair...by the turn he was drawing dead and Badgirl is back up to around 70k.

Where are you Brian...?

"Boobs" is Bhupinder Kholi, a very nice gentleman who plays at the Vic and the Luton festival events. His nickname is "Bhups" I think. Wish him all the best from Steve & Xuyen if you see him.
