It does require interpretation still.

So if the Democrats appoint a few judges, hopefully they'll interpret it favourably - if for no other reason than to annoy the companies that payed for the Republicans to pass it.

More likely is those companies will just now pay the democrats.

I think the simpsons illustrated it very well when the comet was heading from Springfield and congress voted to safe them...Untill someone stood up and tried to attach an amandment to the bill curbing greenhouse gas emission or something and it got denied.

When I first read about the Port Security/Anti-Gaming act I immediately thought about this Simpsons episode as well.

Congressman 1:Then it is unanimous. We are going to approve the bill to evacuate the town of Springfield in the great state of....
Congressman 2: Wait a second, I want to tack on a rider to that bill. Thirty million dollars of taxpayer money to support the perverted arts.
Congressman 1:All in favour of the amended Springfield/Pervert bill? (members of Congress boo) Bill defeated
Kent Brockman: (on TV) I've said it before and I'll say it again—democracy simply doesn't work.

I thought it was jsut an ammended bill rather than a consitutional ammendment?

yeah it is just a bill and not a constitunional thing. I was going to post something long and arduous about how even the constitution of the states is messed up because of amendments but decided not to...left the line in for some reason...oooppps
