Not quite the same thing, but the online poker rooms are very inaccessible to a wide number of people.

Tribeca introduced hot keys, so you didn't have to use a mouse to play.  This might sound like an irrelevance to most, but there are many people who don't/can't use a mouse - people with movement issues, those with RSI that stops them from using a mouse, etc.

There are also the visually impaired, either completely blind or with limited vision.  I guess the resizeable pokerstars tables are a help to those with limited vision, but none of the software packages would be readable by a screen-reader or other assistive technologies.

There's no reason why a blind person couldn't play live - with a camera that reads the cards and some technology that then translates this onto their braille machine.  The only problem is making this portable and simple to use if the player is moved around from one seat to another during a tournament.  Definitely can be done though.

i dealt for a partially sighted guy in nottingham once. he could make out his own cards and chip denominations but needed the cards announcing as they came down and needed to know how many people were in the pot before him. he knew where he was in relation to the button at all times and never needed prompting for his blinds but did need telling when it was his turn to act mid hand.
