Hi iv not been playing that long and wondered if someone could just answer my querie,

The rivers just been dealt and player A has hit a straight ace high, he raises and player B calls him with a straight king high, player A announces he has a straight ace high and player B concedes the pot, player C who is nt involved then lets player B know he has a flush he has nt seen, who wins the hand? player A because B has conceded, or player B who should have won it if he had known what he was doing?

This happened in a game i was playing in and the manager decided it was a split pot!

It depends where Player B's cards are.

If they are exposed he wins the pot, if they are in the muck he loses.

He placed them on the table facing up, thats how I player C saw he had a flush, I told him but did nt know what should happen next!  most people, especially player A seemed to think i should have kept my nose out, not sure if it was poor etiquette or not!

You did nothing wrong, player B should have been awarded the pot.

similar thing happened to me the other week.  I had   vs short stack's    the flop came down with a couple of on it, A on the turn.  The guy rivered a flush but no one (including the casino dealer) noticed it until after the guy had stood up and a third player pointed it out - he got the whole pot, which I had no argument with.

Etiquette?

Penalty to be inflicted on Player C, who is not involved in hand:

Tournament/SnGs etc: Pat on the back for being alert, the result affects all players on the Comp

Cash Games: Invite to discuss outside.

The cards speak. The dealer should award the pot to the winning hand. In the absense of a dealer or a dealer who is capable of identifying the winning hand correctly I think it only fair that someone points it out.
