I thought the button always posted the small blind once a tournament reaches heads up? Sometimes the button ends up posting the big blind, can anyone tell me if there should be a redraw for the button or how to correct this.

When a tournament goes from three players to two, it is possible that the button will be in the wrong place for a hand or so (which I think happens when the player on the button gets knocked out).

Just remember that the button always goes round clockwise and that the big blind should always move (ie you don't make a player post 2 big blinds in a row just to make the button 'right').

Andrews right. the trick to it is always make sure the BB moves to the right player and adjust the button accordingly.

players A,B,C
A=SB
B=BB
C=Button

A gets KO'd = BB moves to C button and SB on B
B gets KO'd = BB moves to C button and SB on C
C gets KO'd = BB moves to A button and SB on B

No what happens when its heads up is the button moves accordingly, but the button is always small blind, however you could get big blind twice, its just unfortunate

WPT uses the sames rules for their heads up and same rules applied for World Heads Up

Whatever applied in the World Heads-Up tournament is obviously irrelevant as, by definition,  a heads-up match is never reduced from three players to two, therefore there can never be any confusion as the the position of the button and blinds.

If the WPT use a 'post BB twice' rule in this situation then they're idiots.

you can never post the BB tiwce in a row

if moving from 3 to 2 players and the player on the button is knocked out the next hand the previous BB gets the small blind and the button

From TDA rules...

35Button in Heads-upWhen heads-up the small blind is on the button and acts first.  When beginning heads-up play the button may need to be adjusted to ensure that, no player takes the big blind twice in a row.
