12 players (including yours truly) return at 3:30 this afternoon.

I had the privilege of sharing a table with Matt Tyler and Julian Thew for most of the night, What class acts they really are.

I'm not just referring to poker ability, (we all know how good they are in that department) I mean sheer entertainment value.

Julian raises Matey Boy's blind for the umpteenth time, Matey boy, who is by now becoming very suspicious, counts out enough chips for a call and a re-raise, saying "I don't know who you are, but I can't let you keep doing that"

At this point, Matt picks up a poker mag with Julians picture splashed across the cover, and holds it up in front of Matey's face, Matey flings his cards into the muck immediately.

Priceless!

lmao class.

Best of luck Mr Red.

Interestingly as I sit here in Germany reading this post about Julian I had just come from the EPT site. We are discussing how to qualify for Dortmund and I was showing them Julians result in Baden.........strangely they have him down as German........that will be like Damon D'Cruz being Scottish then.

Thanks for all the good wishes guys, I had a good run. It would have been great to have won it, but with Christmas looming, the 2nd place ££s will do nicely tyvm.

By the time we had finished, the main event was well under way, but there was still time to get in as a late entry. The sensible thing would have been to go home and have a kip, but instead I did what I suspect most of you would have done and played anyway.

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone at Grosvenor Walsall for putting on yet another tremendous festival. It was well structured, well supervised, and well dealt. The players were fed and watered regularly, and every table seemed to be "alive" with laughter and banter.

Special thanks to Liz. What an absolute sweetheart. Always pleasant and smiley, but knows the job inside out. A real asset to both Grosvenor and players alike. The phrase "Get on with it, pull em up when you've finished" will be burned into my memory forever.

27 hopefuls, of which I'm 1, return to junction 10 for day 2 (Thats a lot of numbers for one sentence)

Smoke me a kipper......
