can anyone recomend me a good hotel to stay in vegas? i'll be travelling just after the world series as i'll still be too young to play the main event. but planning on cashing in on the remaining fish.
obviously i need somewhere close to the big poker rooms but thats uber cheap? or is it better to stay in the bellagio due to the rewards/money off rooms ect i'll get for the rake i'll be donating? i've been told you can end up stayin almost for free by the end of a week of grinding in there? any truth in that?

www.cheapovegas.comLast year, Jen, Snoops and I stayed in the Orleans during the event. Nice rooms, cheap prices but off the strip. Also it has a cinema complex and 24 hour bowling where you can watch Pab and Moorman duel for like 4 hours... If money is no object, it has to be the Venetian or the Wynn.

Treaure Island is cheap as chips and close to the Venetian, Caesers, Wynn, Bellagio. The rooms ain't great but all right by all accounts. The Venetian is also very reasonable and, as long as you play the evening tournament most days, you should be able to get the poker room rate. Just hold on to your entry tickets. Every room is a suite and it comes down to $160 odd per night, $190 odd at weekends with the PRR.

Not really...the poker rooms might offer you a "poker room rate" but comps usually only accrue on the table games (BlackJack/Roulette etc) and the Slots. You can earn (usually) $1 an hour in the poker rooms. For 'proper' comps (i.e. table games) the usual qualifiying bet rate is $25 per play in the Strip casinos. Make sure you join their 'Players Club" and ask to be rated as soon as you start to play...usual 'comp return' is (IIRC) roughly 40% of your average bet per hour. So..bet $100 per play for an hour...earn $40 in comps. Oh... take photo ID with you everywhere...you WILL be asked to produce it on many occasions. Photo Driving Licence is best as it means you don't have to carry your passport around.

Have a look at the forums on Fat Wallet for their hotel promo's. You have to put the work in going through a lot of offers cos not all offers are valid on the date's you wish to travel, but you will find some great deals.
