Anyone play limit? I know a lot of people have been going from limit to NL recently, is there any point in going the other way? Is there still any money in it or are they like SNGs where even if you are a good player you only have a tiny edge?

I was playing with some rakeback calculators and you seem to get about 50% more RB playing 6M 3/6 than 6M 1/2 NL. What kind of win rate can an average kinda player expect at 3/6?

At the very least it looks like I'd lose my money slightly slower at limit Smiley

I had a stab at 5-10 limit on blonde last month, found it relatively soft in that playing it robotically..raising with made hands, and nut draws to pot build..no idea if this was "theoretically correct" haven't had the time to read up on it

once I'd learned "calling light" against most I found I was grinding it out ok

might go back to it, but yes it was a grind

One problem is that it is a bit more difficult to multi-table limit as you will generally be playing more hands to the river, so the comparison is not quite as straightforward.  2/4 full ring limit is a great way to accumulate points on crypto for bonus clearance (as long as you don't think its rigged in which case you will lose your sanity).

i dont really know much theory behing limit, but i never raised drawing to the nuts, because you can only get paid off in big bets not like nl where you can stack someone, if that makes sence, id only raise the nut draw if i had bet or 3 bet pre, and just continuing the standard bet on flop with position. im not sure if this is correct! would be good to hear other peoples opinion

I won't give chapter and verse, but there are several things to think about simultaneously.  Yes, limit is about handing out a death of a thousand cuts rather than one swift stacking, which means you have to press all those little edges all the time, and wind your neck in at the right time to prevent those edges getting pressed against you.

In the case of the nut flush draw, a raise or c/r is usually warranted.  Add a gutshot straight draw in with it and even more so.  If you only have 1  opponent, you want to take control of the hand and you don't mind them folding.  Where you might be 40% to make your draw, you can turn that into 50%+ with some fold equity.

If you have 3 or 4 opponents, you need to be mindful of where you are - you don't want to inadvertently drive everyone (but one) out by confronting them with 2 bets cold,- those extra calls are giving you the right odds.  You also don't want to fall into the trap of check-calling all the time and sending off a beacon that you are drawing.  Based on the preflop action, where is the agression most likely to come from on the flop?  If you bet into them and they raise and drive everyone out, is that good? If they act first and get callers sandwiched in the middle, do you want to jam round the back?  Who do you want in the pot and who do you want out of it? Is there any chance of taking this down without improving?  Can you put a small bet sized raise in on the flop and then take a free card on the turn if your opponents routinely check to the raiser? One of the worst plays I see is Mr K flush v Mr A flush playing it so cute and trappy trappy that they win a small pot, when if you'd played it hard every street you could have won a monster pot.

Etc.

3BB/100 @ 6max is deffo easy to get at 3-6.

As for nut draws, Simon says it all really you only want to raise if it gives you a chance at the fold, or if it pumps up a pot multiway.
