You could switch to FF 3, it's in beta but seems pretty stable - I use it on my laptop, but stick with FF2 on my desktop as some of the extensions I use aren't supported in 3 yet.

Ralph - do you have a firewall? it could be that has decided to block FF accessing the web...

Just to add - I'm using 2.0.0.13 and it's working perfectly.

Same here, and I'm sure it was released to fix some rather severe security flaws in 2.0.0.12 so wouldn't like to see anyone fall foul of those!
