Intenet Explorer is running fine but firefox will not connect today, I just keep getting the error message, eventually.
It was not working for me late last night either, although during the day it was fine.
Firefox problem, or my PC ?

What error message do you get?
When I try to connect the firefox logo comes up and in the bottom left it says "connecting to bbc weather etc" and it just doesn't connect so when I click the top right to close it down I get the "programme not responding, send error report" message.

Can you load Firefox without loading any web pages? Also what add-ons do you have, and what version of Firefox are you running?

I haven't got a clue mate What do you mean by load firefox without any web pages ? Go to Help > About Mozilla Firefox to find out the version you're using. Change the startup options so it starts with a blank page instead of trying to go to your homepage (BBC website, by the sounds of it).

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life. Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft? Of course not.

So you've uninstalled, reinstalled and it still doesn't work right?
Have you done anything else to your PC recently?

No, no new downloads or anything. I did do a virus scan using XoftSpySE which I have been using monthly for a while, but nothing new.

I had the same problem, my Firefox stopped working as well. I think a new version has came out x.x.13 and I or someone else must have updated it and it suddenly doesn't work.
I found an alternative solution but it's a bit long-winded but could be useful until x.x.14 comes out. I completely deleted Firefox from my computer. I then downloaded Netscape Navigator 9.0 cos my IE is bugged to the max. A while after you open the browser a message appears to inform you that Navigator is no longer supported and you should download Firefox, and it gives you a link to download it. The version that's downloaded via that link is x.x.12 and this should work. Firefox will then inform you that you should upgrade to the latest version x.x.13, as long as you refuse this update then it should continue to work.
cheers Bill Gates
