the AFL..Arena Football League is an indoor league played in the NFL off season

Played on a shortened artificial pitch, with squads where players play attack and defence. 9 a side not 11 a side as the NFL is

Far lower quality than the NFL, its the NFL's attempt to extend its revenues all year round

Owners of franchises include Jon Bon Jovi

typically scores in these games are huge eg 57-55. Not for gridiron purists, the AFL is struggling crowds wise.

Short lived artificially hyped competition

There, thats one sports mastermind subject revised and ticked off

it is full of journeymen, players who never made it in the nfl.

franchises include reasonably sized cities with no nfl presence and big nfl cities looking for an offshoot eg Dallas Desperadoes

Its fun to watch but it aint the nfl that said it does give players who are almost there but not quite a chance to show their wares

I believe the Bears get most of their team from Arena football...
