After a night of bad beats I closed down the poker tables and stumbled onto youtube. If you like your horse racing and have ten minutes to spare, this is worth watching - Red Rums 3rd national victory. It's hard to get across on the recording the passion people had for this horse, and the course was a lot tougher back then as you'll see.

Remember his first win? I still find it hard to watch I just feel so sorry for Crisp!

IIRC my dad had put my 20p on Andy Pandy - but as a young kid what other choice had I got.

crisp was giving red rum a mountain of weight andwould have beat him by 3 fences off levels.

redrum loved aintree and caught the imagination of the nation for many years.

yes legendary staying handicapper who ran a stone better at aintree than anywhere else

still didnt do too badly at Ayr, winning the scottish national, 1 week after it won at Aintree.
