Betting Question
«
on:
September 18, 2008, 02:24:12 AM »
In our regular game earlier tonight we were having a debate about how much is allowed to be bet... It was mainly after the flop had come down.. So I need to ask what is allowed...
lets say we are on 1000 / 500 blinds for example.... Some people have seen the flop...
Person number 1 bets... 1st to bet... Minimum bet = 1000... but he wants to be a bit higher...
So, if he want to bet higher than the 1000 min, can he bet say 1200 or 1400 (or any price between 1000 and 2000) for example?
or
as seems to be the popular choice (not mine) that he must bet min 2000 if he wants to go higher than 1000?
Cheers
Carl..

Yeh he can bet 1,000 or anything larger than 1,000. 1,100,1200,1300,1350 etc.

So long as it's at least 1000 (the big blind), and you have the relevant denominations of chips in play, he could bet 1100 if he wanted.

I still campaign for the introduction of decimalised chips into live poker so I can bet min +0.0001 of a chip (you know it's fun) but at times I must admit it feels likeI'm alone on this subject...

Whereas sadly that picture was of me in my halcyon days.
I've no idea how I got so out of shape.

I will join this campaign, i think its real lifeist (possibly racist) against me as a internet poker player, that i can't make it my standard 333 to go in a live game.

Carl..
Tell all the people who dont know the rules that they are wrong
Minimum bet is the BB, in your case 1000. If I wanted, I could bet 1050!
Then the min raise is double that...so it would be 2100.
