UEFA to revamp from next season.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7737736.stm
So that will mean top 3 in England qualifying automaticallly and fourth place plays one qualifier, which may be a bit tougher than previously.
Looks a good deal to me for the English clubs ?

Arsenal and Liverpool both had to go through qualifying this season, I think.

I think it's meant to mean it will be more difficult for whoever finishes 4th in England.

good result for Scotland too, as the winner will go directly into Group stage, this wasn't always the case, as Celtic won the league before, and still had to qualify!!!!

This.
4th will get a harder qualifying match on average compared to before, but 3rd gets straight into the Champs league proper.
